It's tough figuring out which foundation matches my skin tone when it's in the bottles in the store. It's not like I can take some out of the bottle and test it out. What are some ways I can get it to look more natural and better for my skin? What is the best way to figure out which liquid foundation best matches your skin tone?
Matching foundation to your skin tone can be hard, especially since you can't always test the product that you are getting. The best way to do it is to swipe a small amount of product along your jawline and look at it in natural light. If it disappears, then it matches your skin tone. You might start by going to a high end store that has makeup counters and ask to get your foundation matched. Make sure to look at the makeup on you in natural light as well as florescent lights can make colors look different. Or find a drugstore that has a return policy for makeup. Sometimes you can find samples of foundations at drugstores, or you can ask for samples at makeup counters. Once you get an idea of what color looks good on you, it will be easier to pick it out by eye in the store. What is the best way to figure out which liquid foundation best matches your skin tone?
Go to the mall and stop at any make-up counter and ask for a personal color match. Make sure you are make-up free when doing it. If make-up in the mall is too costly then I recommend trying dabs on your chin and blending it into your neck. The goal is to not have a ';mask';, be orange, or pink. Good luck...it is a pain
Hold it up to your forehead, and look in the mirror.
No joke.
Your forehead is the darkest part of your face, because it gets the most sun.
So it wont make you look overly pale or anything.
