HELP!! I've dribbled liquid foundation on my white top. How do I get it out or is it stained for good?
quick! run it under warm water, leave it to soak and after 10 mins rub a small amount of washing detergent or even better, stain remover like vanish or glo into it, leave again to soak for a further 20 mins, then rinse out.

If its not all out or looks like its just spread, put it into the washing machine with a stain pill and wash.
I did this once before a wedding and dribbled on a dress I wore. I had to take it to the dry cleaners, tell them it was makeup and they were able to remove the stain. There was nothing I could use to get it out at home.
Try rubbing some salt and lemon juice into the stain, then soak it in warm water for an hour!! That will break the stain... then if you've got some vanish or any stair remover rub that on it and then wash it straight away!!!
Get it straight into the washing machine at a 40 degree wash (if it's not a delicate top). This should get it out straight away!
cosmetics are usually permanent...but try a product from Lowe's called ';Capture';...

  • Does the new maybelline dream liquid foundation work?

i need a really good foundation that covers up bad redness and very very dry skin!

does the new maybelline dream liquid foundation work?

i wanna try it but i dont know if it would work!

also how much does it cost?Does the new maybelline dream liquid foundation work?
its kind of expensive i don't remember how much i paid for mine, i think around 10$.

i have severe dry skin and redness, it helps also with them both.

i love it. i definitely recommend it for your type of skin.:)Does the new maybelline dream liquid foundation work?

Worst liquid, powder, and mineral foundations you've ever tried?

Why did you like them?Worst liquid, powder, and mineral foundations you've ever tried?
The avon cream to powder foundation, just didn't feel right.

Now i use Botanics, a lot more natural.Worst liquid, powder, and mineral foundations you've ever tried?
the worst? cover girl tru blend

there old one was amazingg but they changed it from creamy to liquidy and like it sucks dont waste your money.
water, talcum and graphite. i can't build a house on any of them
Ughh cover girl tru blend. Horrible, i used to get it but they chnaged the formula and now it just sits on your face, never get it. Most covergirl products arent to great anyway.
Cover girl just sucks don't buy any of their stuff. It looks really cakey and fake and gross.

I like Physicians formula, Revlon, Neutrogena and L'oreal a lot better. They smooth on better and look a lot cleaner and more natural.

Rimmel is pretty good and cheap too. Just apply it right.

And I hate Clinique, that stuff is way overpriced and it isn't any better than Revlon.

Mary Kay is ok. But the makeup isn't that great for me. I like the microdermabrasion and the satin hands kits.

What do you think of maybellines mineral power liquid foundation and concealer?

it sucks.....its cheap crapWhat do you think of maybellines mineral power liquid foundation and concealer?
I love maybelline. I have found that the maybelline is the most affordable line of mineral makeup that actually works. N it stays true to what mineral make up is suppose to be. Alot of the other brands found at the drugstore claim to be mineral makeup, but contain ingredients that should never be found in mineral makeup.

The easiest way to tell if ur being cheated is to look at the ingredients...if a make up claiming to be mineral make up has ';talc'; in its ingredients then its no good. What do you think of maybellines mineral power liquid foundation and concealer?
I wouldn't know. Maybelline tests on animals so I don't buy it!

I do like Physician's Formula mineral makeup and Bare Minerals Matte though.

What is the neutrogena's Oily-free liquid foundation like?

I am 12 and have some pimples and a few scars from pimples in the passed. My skin is also very oily. I have a few questions on the foundation, does it make your skin look more oily?, does it work well?, does it really help with like keeping pores clean?, and would it be a good fit for my skin? Thanks!

The only way you will know is by trying it out! Everyboedy's skin reacts differently you see, so what works for me might not work for you! Good luck1

How do you apply liquid foundation with a foundation brush?

i have a foundation brush and basically i take the liquid foundation, put it on my hand, and then i use my finger to dot my face with it. then i try blending it with the foundation brush but it can be a bit blotchy when i do this. and im not using a cheap foundation brush i bought a special one at sephora. plus i also use cleanser toner and moisterizer too beforehand. am i not using it properly? i heard that u should dampen makeup brushes for a better application but i dont kno if that would b good to do with brushes...what should i do?How do you apply liquid foundation with a foundation brush?
A foundation brush is an excellent way to apply foundation but it does require a little practise.

First of all, don't dab the foundation on your face with your finger - the dots will start to dry before you have time to blend them. Just dip your brush in the foundation on the back of your hand and apply directly. I find that starting outwards from the nose is the best way, and don't overload the brush. You have to work quickly to ensure you don't get any brush marks. If you do, you can work a big soft brush (like a clean powder or blusher brush) in circles to blend the uneven marks - although it's best to avoid these from the start.

If your makeup is water-soluble then a damp brush can give you a little extra time to blend, but it will thin the makeup out. If your foundation is not water-soluble (silicone based for example) then it will just prevent your brush from 'drinking' the makeup and possible make application a little harder.

You can wash your brush perfectly well with shampoo - professional brush cleaners are anti-bacterial and are made of Iso-propyl-alchohol and will shorten your brush life. Since the brush is just for you, washing regularly with shampoo will work, maybe occasionally with an anti-bacterial wash. How do you apply liquid foundation with a foundation brush?
You should use a sponge or your fingers to apply liquid foundation, you use the brush for powder foundation and yes you must always use cleanser toner and moisturiser every morning and night so you have got the basics, go for it and I hope that you get a flawless complection. Good luck.
    hi,

basically the foundation brush is the best way to apply any foundation ! your fingertips are good for tinted moisturizer, cream and melt the fdation around your hairline. Sponges absorb amazingly so much product! anyway , apply a dot on the back of your hand and take your brush to apply it directly on your skin , your brush ,eeds to be cleaned everyday with a specific brush cleanser otherwise the finish will be clumpsy and uneven and awfull! so , you have the foundation on your brush and u blend it throught your skin up and down (dry brush right!)andright and left if your brush is flat. If your brush is round with 2 different lenght turn around with your brush

if you wet the brush how is the foundation supposed to blend and glide? so my advice is to use a clean, dry brush

    good luck
Use the foundation brush from the start and brush from the bottom of your face up making sure that you blend properly around your jawbone

If you are cleansing and moisturising beforehand wait about 20 minutes before you apply your foundation or it will just sit on your skin because the moisturiser hasn't had enough time to soak in. I always moisturise then do my hair and get dressed or have breakfast then do my make up last
I believe you kinda paint it on. Thats what you do with most liquids and a brush... at least that's what I do on my walls.
    * Sponge: A sponge is great to give you a light, sheer layer of foundation. It makes the foundation very easy to blend, a necessity for foundation and keeps your fingers clean too! I bounce back and forth between this one and the brush. The downside, a lot of foundation can get absorbed in the sponge so it tends to waste product. You will need to clean your sponge after every use or do what I do, buy a bag full of inexpensive sponges at a department store and trash them after every use.

    * Brush: I love the brush. The foundation looks perfect when using a brush, I can't really explain why, it just does. Use a foundation brush for a couple of days and it will be hard to go back to what you were using before. The one problem, you have to clean it every time you use it or you will ruin the brush. If you have to reapply your foundation during the day, a brush is the only way to go!

    * Fingers: Fingers are great because everyone has them, you always know where they are, and they are inexpensive. I personally, don't like the feel of foundation on my fingers so it's not my favorite. But if you don't have issues like me, they work great. Can be hard to blend with so just be careful!
make sure you've let your moisturiser sink in, or else the foundation will slip.

then put the foundation on the back of your hand, and dot it on your face with the brush. blend using downward strokes only. if there isnt enough coverage/youre a bit blotchy, add more!

wash the brush out with mild shampoo every now and then.

i dont think wetting the brush helps as it waters down the foundation.

don forget to do all this in good light, or you never know what you'll end up with!
I start out putting dabs of liquid foundation then gently dab it all so it blends. Then, use a powder to set it so the brush strokes don't show.
that's usually what I do and it looks fine...just squeeze a little on your finger and evenly dot it all over your face, then brush it. Personally, I think powder foundation works better, lasts longer, is easier to apply, and it doesn't clog your pores as much!
You're not supposed to apply liquid foundation with a brush. XD

    Use a makeup sponge.

You can either dab it on your face and use the sponge to blend, or place it directly on the sponge and buff it into your skin that way.

Use the brush to apply pressed powder or powder foundation.

  • How do you apply liquid foundation with a brush?

i recently bought a new foundation brush (not a stippling kind of brush, but like a flat brush) and im not sure how to use it. If you just brush the foundation on your face, won't it not actually blend into your skin? How do you apply liquid foundation with a brush?
Its going to seem a lot like painting because it is very hard to blend and streaks easily, but here is a video showing you how to apply liquid foundation with a flat brush and stippling brush. It talks about the pros and cons of both in then beginning and the applies the foundation side by side to show the difference. You can skip the parts with the other brush, though, so you get the information you need. How do you apply liquid foundation with a brush?
I find using a flat brush you have to work the foundation really well or else it will look streaky or uneven. it is possible to apply liquid foundation with this kind of brush, it's just not my preferred way.

you get the liquid onto the brush and apply it onto your face in kind of short strokes, make sure you blend it well and you will be able to avoid it looking streaky.

the first few times you try it may be a bit difficult to get the technique right, but the more you practice the easier it will be for you to apply the foundation well.
the best brush to use with liquid foundation is a synthetic brush.

anyway, if you want a natural/light coverage use brush strokes like your painting but if you want a bit more coverage put spots of foundation on your face and then dab them in with the brush. the foundation actually has to blend into your skin to make it look more natural and all - so make sure its a good foundation that wont completely block pores (this is why some people use tinted moisturizer or mineral products) otherwise make sure you give yourself a moisturizer before putting the makeup on and a good fash wash after taking it off. after applying the liquid you can put on a light powder foundation (optional) and make sure you put bronzer on to give it toning and color.
The way I do it is I put a little foundation on the corner of my hand then dab the brush in, a little at a time.

Dab it on your face to cover and then smooth it over with gentle short brush strokes to blend. If you get brush strokes you have too much foundation on, or it hasn't dried up enough... just dab and blend some more until you can see the brush strokes blending in evenly.
I love foundation brushes. I put a drop of foundation directly onto my brush, and 'dot' my face in the 5 key areas of my face: cheeks, forehead, nose, chin.

Then blend. First in a sweeping motion, and then in a circular motion to finish. If you have the proper shade for your skin, it will be flawless.

I don't use sponges, as they 'drink' up all the foundation.

Be sure to set it with a loose powder, for perfect skin.
    Old school is still the best. Use a make-up sponge or your fingers. Been using my fingers for years, and have never had to worry about streaking or lines left by the brush. I also like the cream-to-powder foundations that are put on with a sponge, and dry like a powder. They blend really well and feel great. It's not that I'm against a new method...it's just that if what you've been using works, why change? Besides, it's just one more thing you've gotta keep track of. Keep it simple. %26lt;*)))%26gt;%26lt;
you put a little bit of foundation on the spot you want to cover and then blend it in moving your brush in a back and forth sweeping motion or in circles. if it still doesnt blend then dab it with the brush.

    i hope this helps :)
Those brushes are for powder foundations! You never use a brush for a liquid foundation, you use a sponge.
powder yes. liquid NO WAY! it would be all smudgy... use your hands it blends nicely and looks the most natural

Anyone used MAC studio fix liquid foundation and Select SPF 15 before? What are your comments?

Should I use it witht the select sheer loose powder or the Blot powder? (what is the difference anyway?) I have oily skin.Anyone used MAC studio fix liquid foundation and Select SPF 15 before? What are your comments?
    GREAT quuestion!!

I have both Select SPF 15 foundation %26amp; Studio Fix Fluid Foundation %26amp; Studio Fix powder.

STUDIO FIX FLUID works better. Its made specifically for oily skin %26amp; to hide every flaw %26amp; pimple. It gives more coverage. Select SPF 15 is lighter so gives less of coverage, which is good is you dont have acne ect. %26amp; just need a foundation to even out your skin.

I also have the select/sheer powder %26amp; blot powder.

They both work the same %26amp; look the same.

But i would go with the blot powder, because at times it can look less powdery %26amp; caked on so you look like your wearing less makeup. BUT honestly they work the same %26amp; theres not really a difference.

Try to use an oil free mositerizor/primer before applying your foundation it makes your foundation go on smoother %26amp; closes pores.

Also, MAC has a a cream you also apply on before which reduces the production of oil, so you will not get oily throughout the day or have to reapply or touch up.

%26amp;%26amp;%26amp; Studio fix powder foundation works really good buut not a really dry skin.

i LOVE mac foundation. Its the only one that works %26amp; ive tried everything %26amp; i mean everything from all drugstore brands to clinque whihc made me breakout.

ALL there stuff works amazing %26amp; looks good %26amp; has helped my skin clear up!!

%26amp; TRUST ME its so worth it. It lasts for a super long time. i was hestitant to even spend that much money because i reall dont even have it but i tired it %26amp; fell in love with it. Now i just buy 1 or 2 things. The foundation is the BEST there.

hope i could help, good luck!!Anyone used MAC studio fix liquid foundation and Select SPF 15 before? What are your comments?
I think it's a waste of money, you can buy Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation for Oily/Combination skin cheaper, and it probably works better. And use the blot powder if you're gonna follow your regimen.
honestly ive tried it, it makes your skin oily and shiny. not to mention how pricey it is. stick to powder

I used power all the time, but i want to try the liquid.

use liquid foundation and set it with your pressed powder

    ^__^ ``tia

http://ribbonties.blogspot.comIs liquid foundation better than the powder?
I think liquid foundation is for a more made up look and people who need more coverage. I like powder best because it looks really natural. It does come off but I just re-apply whenever.. so it's no biggie for me. But other peeps on here are saying there's a primer you can use so it sets.. so that sounds pretty cool.

Powder seems most easier to wash off though because it's already loose. Liquid, I'd wash my face twice just to make sure I get it all off.
I use this pressed foundation because it doesn't wpe off its kind of liquidy but powder but...

if you want liquid i would use one of these it feels like you're not wearing foundation

    http://isandoval2.qbeautyzone.com/produc鈥?/a>
    I personally like powder better.

Usually, if you use a face primer before you put on any make-up, including the powder foundation, it'll help the powder stick and won't come off.

Liquid always makes my face feel wet and uneven skin toned.

But... maybe you should try both and see what you like better?
i prefer powder cause it doesn't clog my pores. if you use bare minerals it doesn't come off unless if you wash it off, that's what i use.
I think it depends on your skin type as well. If you have dry skin then using powder can sometimes emphasise the dryness of your skin.

Personally I prefer liquid foundation as it provides the coverage I need and then finish off with pressed powder on the oily areas to reduce shine.

I prefer to use L'oreal true match foundation because of the pump bottle it comes in (UK/Europe version) so its less messy and lasts longer as you don't waste too much product.

Liquid foundation is easier to wash off though.
    yes!

    its much better!

and no its not hard t wash off.
It depends on your personal preference. If you don't like the powder try the liquid. There are places you can go to try before you buy. I sell Mary Kay and all my customer have the choice to try before they buy. That way they aren't wasting their money on a product they don't like or won't use. Also I do agree with the women that said use liquid with powder, or a liquid that turns to a powder with a pressed or loose powder as well. It creates a much softer look. Email me I would be glad to give you some more pointers.
i use both and it works wonders if we're talking about the same thing i use covergirl like pressed powderhttp://www.kaboodle.com/hi/img/2/0/0/45/鈥?/a>

after putting on the liquid it seals it in well and covers any blemish's the liquid covers alot more flaws but somtimes doesnt blend as easily, its very easy to take off though liek if u try but not on its own, so i suggest both but make sure ur face is dry and oil free or it wont stick
you wear liquid foundation, and then put on powder to set it...and it comes off just as easy as powder
I use the Liquid Minerals from Bee Luscious. You get the best of both worlds. You get an oil free liquid that turns to powder almost as soon as it hits your skin. It gives a very natural look. It is also free of bismuth and talc.

    http://www.beeluscious.com
No liquid if anything sould be easier to wash off. Powder is better for more oily skinned people where liquid is better for more dry skinned people. Now all dry skinned people still ne to mosterize and oily dont want to apply make-up on with extreme oil on.

Will liquid foundation melt off my face?

I am a high school student with dry skin on my cheeks and REALLY oily skin on my t-zone (i have combination skin) During the day one of my classes is gym. Will liquid foundation melt off my face and make me look like a hot mess? Will liquid foundation melt off my face?
If you want liquid, I'd say just stick with tinted moisturizer. That way, if it melts off, it's not like ';oh my god your face is melting off!'; and it would be easy to redo.

Otherwise, try a powder foundation. Bring some makeup removing wipes (try baby wipes, or any that aren't meant to be a cleanser as well) and either remove the foundation before, or after gym (i would do it before - who wants sweaty foundation?) and then reapply it.

Or use both tinted moisturizer and a light powder over top. This will allow you for some extra coverage, but not really cakey, and it will provide your skin with a moisturizer. Look for products with SPF in them, that way you don't need to apply SPF separately. But if you are going to take your makeup off before gym and are going outside, then be sure you bring your sunscreen and apply some.

Also, having the powder over hte liquid will help when it needs touching up.Will liquid foundation melt off my face?
It really depends what makeup you use. (For example, Maybelline will definetly melt, but Revlon Colorstay may stay on.) But I would suggest L'Oreal Bare Naturale mineral makeup if you have time to go out and buy some. It's powder foundation and it's amazing! Flawless coverage and no shine!!!
The new powder foundations out now are pretty good - I would go for one of those instead, as liquid foundations are often not great at staying put during activities.

I use bare escentuals but loads of makeup companies have their own brand out, at more affordable prices. You should give that a try - it doesn't come off til you want it to!

    Good luck. :)
depends on the foundation... Try Revlon colorstay foundation for oily-combination skin. It's not expensive and it will stay for a long time!! But it's very thick. Also putting mineral powder will help absorb oil!

Does clinique still sell the gentle light liquid foundation in the US?

I think it's been replaced by the Up-Lighting Liquid Illuminator.

How can I apple liquid foundation properly without bloches etc?

    i like using a sponge

i put my foundation on it then i put some face moisturizer on it

that way i appy a natural looking glow and prevent dry or

    flakiness throught out the day

i just rub it around and clean the sponge with soap every night

:)How can I apple liquid foundation properly without bloches etc?
A foundation brush. Particulary a quality one made of goat hair. Clinique has one it's about $25 but will last forever. It get in cracks and crevices and doesnt leave lines or streaks, also doesnt soak up product like a sponge, and you want have to stick your fingers in the foundation either. How can I apple liquid foundation properly without bloches etc?
You can use your finger tips, or a brush and apply it in short strokes , or you can use a sponge (new one everytime) and apply dabbing motions to the skin.
    Use damp sponge...
Wait at least 5 minutes after you moisturize, 15 min. if you can. A primer works good, if you want to use one alone on busy or casual days, or under foundation. Then, using very little foundation, pat it on very gently using a downward motion (so you don't color hairs and make them stand up)
I use a sponge. works perfectly!!!! Good luck! :)

Thanks!

-Chessie xoxWhat is the neutrogena's Oily-free liquid foundation like?
The only way you will know is by trying it out! Everyboedy's skin reacts differently you see, so what works for me might not work for you! Good luck1

What liquid foundation would you recommend?

What liquid foundation would you recommend for someone with fair skin with an oily complexion and prone to breakouts that you could find at Target? What liquid foundation would you recommend?
go for the mineral foundations..such as bare minerals..last a lot longerWhat liquid foundation would you recommend?
Any of the mineral make-up foundations would probably be good for you. (the powder like bare essentials but who wants to give your left arm for that?) They are light, won't turn your face into paste if it gets oily and won't make the breakouts worse.
Any covergirl foundation, the cream works really well. I have the same type of skin and this is the best brand I've found so far for our type of skin.
Boots No7 is a good brand that Target has. University Medical AcneFree Severe Acne Treatment System is a good product to get rid of the breakout part of it...
    Maybelline Liquid Mineral Foundation

Maybelline PureMakeup, it contains 50% water, oil free so no breakouts. And it has a matte finish for your oily skin.

    Old school is still the best. Use a make-up sponge or your fingers. Been using my fingers for years, and have never had to worry about streaking or lines left by the brush. I also like the cream-to-powder foundations that are put on with a sponge, and dry like a powder. They blend really well and feel great. It's not that I'm against a new method...it's just that if what you've been using works, why change? Besides, it's just one more thing you've gotta keep track of. Keep it simple. %26lt;*)))%26gt;%26lt;
you put a little bit of foundation on the spot you want to cover and then blend it in moving your brush in a back and forth sweeping motion or in circles. if it still doesnt blend then dab it with the brush.

    i hope this helps :)
Those brushes are for powder foundations! You never use a brush for a liquid foundation, you use a sponge.
powder yes. liquid NO WAY! it would be all smudgy... use your hands it blends nicely and looks the most natural

I really need help with applying liquid foundation?

I am 15 years old. I use a liquid foundation. The colour is ';Honey Beige'; and i apply it with my fingers. The problem is it doesn't looks even/blended and it can sometimes show that i am wearing foundation.

Can you tell me some tips and if i should use a sponge and how to blend it with my skin? Any tips????PLEASE HELP ME

Thank you.I really need help with applying liquid foundation?
    apply facial moisturizer first.

if you have blemishes, use a concealer that is a little lighter then your foundation color.

    dab, dont spread.

and only apply on uneven skin tone.

after, set with a light powder.

Loreal True Match works great =]I really need help with applying liquid foundation?
dont apply with ur fingers ever. use a tissue. spnges make things look uneven. try a diff color. if honey beige is too light try a color a little lighter and vice versa
If you can see a line is the color right for you? I would definetly switch to applying foundation with a brush. Think of your face as a canvas, you wouldn't paint with your fingers would you? Not unless your in kindergarden. A brush blends the foundation perfectly. Finding your holy grail foundation brush is a mission in itself. The best one I've had so far is Chanel. It's a great investment.
Use a foundation brush. Its an easy way to apply it and gives a more even finish.

If your foundation can still be seen and it looks like your wearing it then change the colour of it. An easy way to do this is by applying a tiny bit to your jaw line before buying it. If you can see it then dont buy it as its not the colour for your complexion. If its not noticable then buy it because its the same colour as your skin.

    Hope this help =]

Perhaps the shade is not a good match for you. I like the products at aularale.com/7002. The foundation is a perfect match whether I apply w/my fingers or a wedge (best). Check your local library for 'how to' videos on make up.
well maybe u are using the wrong shade of foundation if u find it hard to blend and u can still see it. Go to a makeup counter and ask for some help. U no u have the right shade when u first apply it and it disappears into ur skin tone. Also use a light moisturizer before u apply ur foundation as this can really help to blend into ur skin. i dont use sponges as they carry so much bacteria and can give u spots. I apply foundation with my clean fingers or a foundation brush. i first apply to the centre of my face (e.g. forehead, down the nose and chin) and then blend it outwards (e.g cheeks, temples). i also apply a bit to my eyelids ( i wear a lil eyeshadow) and i check that the foundation is blended along the jaw line so it doesn't show where u have stopped using it. Hope that helps! sorry its long! :)
you are doing it wrong. i dont know how to explain but your not doing it right.
Your foundation should not be a much darker tone than your skin. It will start to look clownish and look like you actually have make-up on. Make-up should enhance your features so I would say to take a look at how dark it is and maybe go a few shades lighter. A tip would be to put the make-up on at your jaw line and if you can tell a big difference between the color of your face and the color of your neck, you are going way too dark.
i used to use the liquid foundation but would end up with streaks and uneveness. i switched to maybeline dream matte mouse. and i only applying around my eyes and nose. it works greak for me. i exfoliate before i put it on and let my skin dry before i put the make up on. if i don't it looks like i'm peeling. if you use ur fingers use ur middle or ring finger because they have less oil on them. because you touch alot of things mainly with your pointer finger and pick up dirt, the middle and ring finger are slightly cleaner. if you use a spong or brush make sure its for the type of foundationi you want to use. that it is a good quality and the bristles won't come off on your face. dream matte mouse i don't have to use a powder because its like a two in one. i didn't like powder cases because the pad would absorb the oil on ur face and then it would go on the powder.
Put it on a foam pad or a cotton ball and then just blend it. Move the pad in small circles and then use your fingers and smooth out imperfections.
well to be blunt here you probably have the wrong color for your face.

    der.

well first off get a new foundation that is less runny and that will stayput. i suggest either Clinique or Covergirl from personal experience then i use a foundation brush which u can get pretty cheap but if i dont have it on me i just use a sponge. either one of them works good.

next try to pat the foundation in. not just smear it around.

i also use a powder foundation over top so the liquid foundation will stay put.

    hope this helps :]
By all means use a sponge, but here's the catch:

Dot the forehead (near the hairline), the chin, and the cheek areas.

Next using a downward stroke start at the hairline and bring the sponge down to your chin. Use this technique in the cheek areas as well.

    Hope this works for you.

    mcstanley
pat your finger tips on your face, dont rub anything in.
Well my sister used liquid foundation and she didn't know why she was having such bad acne so then we found out that it was the foundation she was using... it was clogging her poo rs and its really bad for you so then we found out about Bare Essentials and now that all we use. it puts minerals on your face to keep it healthy but still covering stuff up. But if you still use your liquid foundation get some Make up sponges and apply with that they are a life saver!!!
A foundation brush, i have a Dior one which was 拢23 but i dont think you need to spend that much on it
moisturise first, then wait 10 mins. apply liquid foundation all over face using fingers/hands to blend in - dont use too much or it will be obvious that you are wearing it. then wait another 10 mins. APPLY POWDER after foundation cos it will make the colour more even, make a better texture, and look less obvious!
I wouldn't use a sponge, because that is meant for spray foundation. I use this brush and it works amazing!

Invest in either a foundation brush or foundation sponges.

It gets you and even finish etter than your fingers :)

    Good luck :)

What should I use for applying liquid foundation?

Should I use a brush, sponge, or somthing else? What should I use for applying liquid foundation?
Trowel or Bucket and Spade. What should I use for applying liquid foundation?
I saw Cindy Crawford on Oprah years ago, and she swore that the best way to apply foundation is with your fingertips. I'll take her word for it!
    Or your fingers.
I think a sponge has the best effect.
use you finger tips in circular motions so its even, you can use a sponge around your jaw and hair line so its blended well.
I generally use my fingers but by right you should use a sponge its more hygenic
Using a sponge is nice because it will retain some of the foundation and you can use it to touch up later in the day should you need. I typically use my hands, but I pat foundation in more than I rub it in so a sponge works well in this instance too.
Sponge is alot easier to put on Liquid foundation with.
you can get a pack of them at any drugstore or at chains like walmart and kmart. i use the sponge wedges, they work pretty good but toss them after a few uses because they can break down over time. just put a little on the sponge, i dot it on my forehead, my cheeks and my chin and blend it all in.
sponge is best because it absorb liquid and thus the surplus is removed automatically...
Dab with a finger if trying to cover up something small, and for that, try using a shade lighter, then after use your shade with a sponge. It works for me everytime, and people ask how I get flawless skin haha :)
hottie give this chance to your boyfriend......simple
why bother with a sponge? Most of the makeup seeps into the sponge not on your skin. Waste of money and no coverage! Use a foundation brush. Really cheap in drug stores about 3-7 dollars. the are completely washable and reusable and can control better where you are applying the foundation. much better blending too. Also you will see that such a small drop will pretty much do most of your face because not seeping into a sponge. Remember, you may not need foundation on every spot on your face either. It may, however be a good thing if your going for the sunscreen value!

What is the best natural looking liquid foundation that gives great coverage?

I am looking for a good foundation to use that will give GREAT coverage. Does Loreal work well? my Friend said it did and it looked great on her. Do you know of any that look natural? I have a warm skin tone, but discoloration and red spots

    :( any suggestions?

p.s please dont recommend powder or bare minerals they didn't give me enough coverage. thanksWhat is the best natural looking liquid foundation that gives great coverage?
Loreal, in my opinon, works really good.

i use loreal visible lift, and i have red skin as well.

    but with this foundation, i even had a chick come up to me and say, ';I wish i had your skin!';

haha, so yeah, loreal works pretty good. i just have to reapply it like every two hours, but that's fine with me.

=)What is the best natural looking liquid foundation that gives great coverage?
i use this natural foundation colour from faceshop, it comes in a tube. its a liquid foundation but dries matt. i have some red spots and it gives great coverage!
paula dorf is amazing but pricey. lasts forever though
i agree with your friend. it works great if you have acne too.

  • What is the BEST brand of liquid foundation?

i need one that covers up COMPLETLEY, including all the little red marks and evvvvvverything, will last a long time (the whole school day) but also looks like real flawless skin. price doesnt matter. thanks! What is the BEST brand of liquid foundation?
MAC STUDIO FIX. It is the absolute best foundation I have ever tried, it covers everything and will last well into the evening. Use the foundation and set it with a little blot powder and you will have a beautiful, flawless face! Dermablend covers anything (it can cover a tattoo!) but it is thick and feels weird on the skin. A drugstore brand would be Revlon Colorstay, the concealer and foundation both cover awesomely and stay on. (Their eyeliner is the best also!!) Good Luck!!

#1 is definately the MAC though! What is the BEST brand of liquid foundation?
If you have lots of red, I would recommend buying the smashbox photofinish primer in colour adjust paired with either the smashbox foundation or a cheaper foundation (I recommend covergirl trublend, but I have clear, even skin so I'm unsure of how well it would work on others)
I use Clinique superfit foundation! it covers up everything AND it is made by dermatologist!! It won't clog pores and you will definatly find your color and if you can't then go to a clinique store and see if they have one of those people that find your color and do your make up for you!! thats what i did cuz i am an olive color and sometimes it can be kinda hard=)
Dior Airflash goes on really easily and looks great, and it covers blemished really well. Also try Chanel, they make a variety of terrific, long-lasting foundations.
mac. i use mac and i love it. but if you looking for a drug store brand use a covergirl one. my makeup i use a combination of mac and covergirl
I personally wouldn't use liquid foundation at all. It always looks you skin look greasy. it looks gross. believe me. my teacher wore that crap every day
Revlon Color Stay foundation or RImmel 16 Hours Foundation.
I like Covergirl's true blend. It blends it really good with your skin and covers EVRYTHING up. I lovee it !
Dior.. its a spray. apply with a sponge n it's magic!!!

    How to apply liquid foundation?

I recently bought MAC studio liquid foundation. It works well, but I don't think I apply it properly, I use a sponge, but alot of it ends up in my hairline and eyebrows. After I apply it, should I top it off with a translucent powder? Also, I have some red spots from pimples how can I conceal theese well ( I use a concealer, but doesn't seem to reduce the redness much). Thanks. How to apply liquid foundation?
OMG I USE THE SAME THING! lol. Anyways, don't use sponges, they soak up the foundation :(... so basically, you are wasting it. Buy a brush, they recommend it at MAC, but you can even buy one at drug stores, ask them about ';QUO';. I got mine for $15. You can even apply it with your fingers, works really well too. Wrap a headband around your head, also buy some wipes, wipe it on your eyebrows and lips after apllying your foundation, as well as the hairline too! Baby wipes! How to apply liquid foundation?
There are so many great websites to use to solve this problem.

ps. MAC is a very good quality makeup company

Here's a video so you can see how it's done:

    http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-appl鈥?/a>

I suggest dabbing on some of the liquid foundation on your forehead / close to your eyebrows but not too close and then just take a sponge or a brush and blend it.

You can also hold a tissue to your eyebrows so the foundation goes over the tissue not the eyebrows.

Another tip is to take a Q-tip and put makeup remover on it and just apply it to your eyebrows and hairline.

For the hairline try a headband with a lot of 'teeth' so it can pull back the hair.

You can also take the foundation you put on your forehead and take a sponge (dont put any more foundation on it) and just softly blend and blend until the shade fits in.
First get rid of the sponge. Use your finger tips. Not only will the sponge leave alot you don't need it will also spread any ';germs'; your face is already trying to fight against. (i.e. the pimples.). Make sure your hands are clean. Put a DAB on your finger tip and apply a touch on your forehead , down your nose, across both cheeks and on the chin. Start at your forehead and rub OUT AND DOWN. Get as close to the hair line as you want, with practice you'll know where to stop. Do the nose area in an outward motion towards your ear and jaw line. Then do the chin and upper lip again in an outward motion. Use the palm of your hand to smooth any showing lines around the jaw line. As for the powder that's up to you but if you apply the foundation right you really shouldn't need it and you know what they say ';Sometimes less is more!'; Be sure to blend all areas of the face with your finger tips to blend and smooth. And stop worrying you'll look great.
The first thing you need to do is not use sponges they absorb all the make up!!!!! Get rid of them !!! buy a brush or use your fingers what i always do id put some on my wrist start from the jawline and do circular motion that will make it more evenly make sure you do upward motion not downward. For your blemishes get a concealer that is a little lighter than your skin, not that much lighter tap the concealer on the blemish and do circular motion around it . Because if you just apply some on the blemish it it will make it look cakey.
    http://www.videojug.com/film/how-to-appl鈥?/a>
JUst use the upper stroke when applying a foundation, just gently and equally distributing the it on the face round the corner of the eyes and just a soft dab on the red spots.Use the concealer to hide the red spots and on top use the translucent poweder, then presto you look very beautiful ok?
rub it round and round until its even

I like olay daily moisturizer with spf 15 and covergirls trueblend foundation.I dont use concealer because trueblend covers everything that, I need to cover.
Try Revlon Colorstay or Maybelline Super Stay Foundation. They last really long hours and is true to their colors. Be sure to pick just the perfect shade though :)

fingersWhat do YOU use when your apply your liquid foundation?
Ive seriously tried just about everything from a sponge to my fingers and the bessssst is the MAC 187 brush and whats so great about it is that you can use it to apply liquid foundations and powders it will also give you the airbrushed finish look its the best!!! i 1000000000000000000000000000000000000000鈥?reccomend it!
everyone is different.. i use my fingers for my whole face.. i don't use brushes at all if i don't have to.. most makeup artist do use sponges or airbrush.. and apply shadows with brushes or q-tips.. get the book making faces by kevyn aucoin.. all make-up artists swear by this book.. its amazing.
i have always used my fingers. one of the benefits to that, is you learn to feel more of the shape of your face and become more familiar with it and that can help you know how much make up to apply.
I use a brush. It makes my skin look flawless, even if I have blemishes. The worst thing about using a brush is that if you get too much on, it looks weird. Basically just paint on a light layer.
don't use your fingers! you can make yourself break out that way!

i think its best to use sponges with liquid
i used to use wedge sponges, but fingers work even better and you don't have to waste the money on the sponges
    I use a MAC 187 brush.
I use my fingers, and it hasn't made me break out.
I don't wear liquid but I used to use a sponge or my fingers.

Does Almay smart shade work better than Alamy's Nearly Naked liquid foundation?

I have a lighter skin tone and i wanted to know which i should buy...The smart shade foundation or the nearly naked liquid foundation? I'm 14, so my complextion isnt exactly evened out yet. Which would you suggest for me?Does Almay smart shade work better than Alamy's Nearly Naked liquid foundation?
i have tried both and its what i thought:

    Smart Shade

This product is great. I was looking for something that had sheer coverage, with a SPF, and looked natural. I also wanted something that evened out my skin tone. This did everything that I wanted it to do.

When applying it, you don't even feel like you are wearing makeup. It is the most lightweight makeup that I have ever used and I have always used makeup that is sheer and lightweight. I don't like the feel of heavy makeup.

I had a friend who used this product and thought very highly of it. This inspired me to check it out and I was also very happy.

I also have acne-prone skin and I have not broken out from this product.

    Nearly Naked

I tried this foundation based on a great review by Paula Begoun and I have been pleased. The texture is light, but still gives just enough coverage for me. I find that I still need concealer for any trouble spots, but it dries quickly and is easy to blend. The Naked color is a great match for me (NW20) and the SPF is a nice added bonus (but could be higher). Application is a bit messy due to the poor packaging, but the price is right!Does Almay smart shade work better than Alamy's Nearly Naked liquid foundation?
I picked up some Smart Shade, just to give it a try. I've never used the nearly naked, but was happy with the smart shade. It would probably be good on skin that's not even, as it adjusts nicely. I'm very pale, so it's difficult to find makeup that is light enough but this stuff worked.
I don't like the Smart Shade... it turned orange on me. My skin is very fair and I used the lightest shade, but it didn't work.

In your opinion, what is the most natural looking + long lasting liquid foundation?

I use maybelline liquid mineral, but it doesn't last.

Does anyone have a tried and true that they'd like to share? In your opinion, what is the most natural looking + long lasting liquid foundation?
Try Neutrogena products theyre really nice light and natural. Ive always had a problem with blending with my skin color and with it not lasting but with Neutrogena it really looks natural and nice. And it doesnt feel heavy or unnatural on the skinIn your opinion, what is the most natural looking + long lasting liquid foundation?
I use Revlon Colorstay Makeup w/Spf15. It last pretty good. But, with any make up you can always use a primer, and it will not only make your foundation stay but your blush/bronzer too. I have recently purchased Smashbox Photo Finish, and I love it. It gives you super smooth skin, and my make up lasts all day even in this southern humidity. I bought mine at Ulta.

i use concealer and translucent powder and it outlasts any foundation. but FLIRT (a mac knock off and a brand you can buy at kohls) makes a stick that i use if i am in a hurry that stays on long.
I think Maybeline is fine but after you've applied eyeshadow blush and lipstick you have to set the makeup by applying a translucent powder over your whole face. That way the make-up will last longer.
Definitely clinigue long lasting wear liquid

i ABSOLUTELY HATE when I can see the liquid foundation i am wearing and this stuff is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING like you dont even know!
i have kind of bad skin and when i wear Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse Foundation i look like i have perfect skin its amazing
I like Rimmel renew and lift
the mouse matte one just find the right color

If I have dry skin should I use a sponge or brush to apply liquid foundation?

i normally wear mineral powder but i want more coverage for my acne scars that are red/purple. i tried liquid foundation the other day with a sponge and it showcased all of my dry skin.

i exfoliate but can't seem to get it all off enough for my skin to look decent with the foundation.

i take the sponge and pull it in downward strokes because i read that somewhere.

am i doing it wrong? should i be stifling? or whatever it is calledIf I have dry skin should I use a sponge or brush to apply liquid foundation?
moisturize and don't wear too much makeup because it draws attention to the dry skinIf I have dry skin should I use a sponge or brush to apply liquid foundation?
i have dry skin and i use a brush,i find it so much easier
I have the same problem with the dry skin :)

Well, what I do is moisturize, then apply the foundation with a brush, then I moisturize on top of the foundation if my skin is dry.
Use e45 cream for a week and don't wear any make up at all and it should go quite easily!

Or apply cream let it set and then put your make up on it might not show it as much!

i have the same problem got terrible eczema on my face but i hate going out the house with a bare face Lol
I have acne scars and dry skin too, so I hope I can help you. What you should get is a lite moisturizer and switch to a gentle face wash that will not dry your skin out more. If you use a face wash that is made for skin with acne then you need the moisturizer even more. Any brand of moisturizer is good, just make sure that it's lite (non-greasy) and doesn't have any acne medication in it (that can dry your skin out more).

Do not exfoliate every day, this will irritate your skin, possibly clog your pores, and could dry your face out even more. Only exfoliate twice a week, so your skin has time to heal.

When I used mineral powder foundation, I must use a concealer on my acne scars. Mineral powder is great for a natural look, but it's too light to cover problems like that. After you put the powder on dot a little bit of concealer on your scars and blend it in.

When using liquid foundation, I use a sponge, just because a brush is so messy and I feel like the brush is wasting so much of my foundation that I'm loosing money. Work in downward strokes, and don't forget to blend it lightly into your jawline, so you don't look like you're wearing a make-up mask. After you have your foundation on, use concealer to cover up your acne scars and then set your foundation (so it doesn't wear off too easily) with a light dusting of powder.

Foundation can't really fix dry skin, but proper skin care can, over time, make it look better. Be sure to wash your face morning and night, and be sure to apply a lite moisturizer before putting on your foundation and before heading to bed.
Wash your face first, then apply a face moisturizer.

Right after that soaks in, apply your liquid foundation. I always use my fingers.

If you still can see flaky skin, add a little bit more moisturizer on that spot (Not you whole face.) Then blend it in with face powder, matching your foundation.

    Good luck.
Hey, I hear ya. I have dry skin on my forehead and nose that just won't go away! But I have found that it applies easier (in any form) if I use a little bit of baby lotion right before I put my makeup on. Baby lotion works best for me, I'm sure any skin healing lotion would do, but it also doesn't have a strong smell and it's not oily. It may take a few moisturizes before it starts to work, but it's worth it.

I think both the sponge and the brush work; I use a sponge and lightly dab my powder on the areas that are dry, rather than rub against my skin. Try that.
Doing it with your hands is best-the heat from your body warms up the foundation so it goes on more smoothly, and some of the oils from your hands will help with the flakiness on your face. Using a brush is probably the next best thing to use, but using your hands is always the #1 choice.
if your going with coverup, try Clinique Advanced Concealer, its $14 and u can find it on clinique.com. this really works and its designed for those red bumps and acne scars. it doesnt slide off, so just dab it on the scars, u dont need 2 much!! to get rid of dark spots:

use a fading peel derictly on the spot. it will help new skin cells form more quickly and even out your skin tone. the fading peel is called Neutrogena Advanced Solutions Acne Mark Fading Peel for $15 at drugstores.

    hope this helped!!! =P
i have very dry skin and i exfoliate with neutrogena stress scrub and use some ponds dry skin lotion on my face immediately after i shower and then immediately apply powder. use concealer on he scars
i think youd be better of with ';dream matte moose'; its not actualy liquid and it dosent show dry skin and hides achne scars well :)
It doesnt matter which you use , You do however need a moisturizer .. To cover acne scars its best to use a tinted moisturizer and then your foundation that way you get better coverage :)
i use my finger and it works fine but sometimes dry skin actually looks better with out the make up as it just highlights the problem
After you exfoliate try using a double dose of moisturizer wait 5 minutes and apply again then apply your foundation but I use upward strokes to the hair line then wait a minute and actually use a light dusting of power to seal and then take an ice cube and lightly run over my face to set the makeup to matte perfection and this works for me.

Apply liquid foundation with damp brush or dry?

I often hear about how it's a great idea to apply liquid foundation with a damp sponge, but never about how it might be wise to use a damp makeup brush. Since using a foundation brush is my preferred method of application, should I dampen it first or is it fine to leave it dry? Thanks!Apply liquid foundation with damp brush or dry?
I think you should do it dry because sponge absorbs moisture, but the brush doesn't, so it will just mess with your foundation.

    answer mine please

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>Apply liquid foundation with damp brush or dry?
if u want more coverage use a dry sponge/ brush

less coverage or a more dewy look use a damp sponge or brush
dont use a brush to apply liquid foundation. it'll come out streaky and uneven. Your best bet is to just use the sponge (dry)
dampen it GENTLY. if you get too much water in it, it'll make your makeup look runny.

What is the best liquid foundation that makes your skin appear flawless?

I got dior pure light today which is really good! What is the best liquid foundation that makes your skin appear flawless?
What I found works best for me and I have normal to dry skin is the covergirl whipped foundation it covers like liquid but looks and feels light..hope this helps..check out their website for more info about it.What is the best liquid foundation that makes your skin appear flawless?
liquid foundation, always looks fake, and if you have any acne your trying to cover-up, the liquid foundation will make it worse... try a powder
i like neutrogena. seems to be the most flawless liquid foundation i have found. it also helps fight break-outs. brush a light layer of loose powder on top of it for an even more flawless look.

  • Does liquid foundation make you break out?

I want to start wearing foundation (the liquid kind) but I'm in that stage where if I do one thing differently, I get pimples. Will wearing liquid foundation make me break out?

And also, what are some products that actually WORK when it comes to pimple/blackhead troubles?Does liquid foundation make you break out?
-physicans formula, makes great products all under $20, you'll NEVER break out with their makeup, coverage is great and goes on easily

-almay, all under $20 products cover great, you MAY break out but it's highly unlikely

most liquid foundations will cause you to break out do NOT buy rimmel london, wet n' wild, maybelline, milani. those are the worst companies, the formula is cheap and causes reactions such as redness and breakouts especially nasty little blackheads.Does liquid foundation make you break out?
it all depends on what type of makeup ur using....a lot of people have sensitive skin when it comes to foundation. I use Dinair Airbrush Makeup and have for the past 2 years and i love it...its all water based so it doesnt irritate my skin. you can google Dinair and read more on it.
Ok. In response to others' posts...

    - I agree with the oil free thing.

    - You won't be called cake face if you use it like a normal person. I just put it on where I need to, not all over.

    - I use wet n' wild, and there's nothing wrong with it.

Try using powders, maybe they'll work for you.

Make sure you properly cleanse your face at the end of the day, since foundation can clog up your pores.
If you use liquid foundation that has oil in it you will most likely have a break out, make sure to look at the label and only buy ones that say they are oil free!
    ok dermatologists work, trust me!

i don't know of anything else that actually works.

and please don't use liquid, people will call you cake face.

What is the best liquid foundation for african americans?

like everytime i'm trying to order one for my mom, and everytime i order one online i always get the wrong color. it's like the color look totally different in real life than they look in picture. where can iget one that look thesame in picture as well as when i get it?What is the best liquid foundation for african americans?
I reccomend going to a MAC counter and having the make up artist fit your mom for a colour.

That's the only way you'll get the proper colour. What is the best liquid foundation for african americans?
I recommend that you no longer buy foundation over the internet because its really hard to match your skin tone to a picture. If you have lots of cash to spend I would recommend that you buy MAC because of all the different shades of color. If you are on a budget I would recommend True Match by L'oreal because not only can you find your skin tone but you can also match your undertone such as a rose undertone, yellow, or neutral. I personally use True Match and I love it. Also another good brand to try for African American skin colors is the Queen Collection by Cover girl. This line specifically targets women of darker colors. Also a tip when buying foundation always test the color on your jawline in natural lighting because if you try it on your wrist, your wrist is obviously a different color from your face. If you can't test it hold the bottle to your jawline and if you're still not sure go with the darker shade because it will be easier to wear. Hope this helps =)
You need to quit ordering make-up on the internet; this is a big no no for 2 reasons. 1, computer screens make the color of the make-up look so different and when you finally get it will be much lighter or darker. 2, it's much cheaper to just go to the store and buy it and you're most likely not going to get the wrong color in person.

EDIT: MaryKay, is not good at all. One time, my we had a MaryKay make-up party at my house and we were all getting our make-up done, including white women, and it was too light, too shear and it just slid off of my face. It also looked horrible on the white women. That make-up is terrible! I'm from Dallas, TX, and I hate it. But, 2 good make-up lines are M.A.C, and Fashion Fair.
well i wouldn't recommend you purchase it online anymore. I use Mac Products. They are great and 95% of my friends do also. They can usually be found in the mall. They are very friendly...and they will match you up. Another one is Fashion Fair. A lot of older people use that one. I really suggest a store visit then after you find out what your number/shade is you can order online thereafter.
The absolute best makeup for an african amercian is the Queen collection By Queen latifah It will make you look natural
I use MaryKay. I am very dark and I still don't use the darkest foundation they have. I love it and have been using it for over a year.

    Covergirl Trublend! It's amazing!!

Can I put my powder primer on before liquid foundation or does it have to be with powder foundation?

I bought the Diva Defense Primer sample from coastal scents and I'm wondering if it's okay to use a powder before a liquid. Thank you :)Can I put my powder primer on before liquid foundation or does it have to be with powder foundation?
Personally I use liquid primer, and then liquid foundation, or powder primer and powder foundation.

If you use a powder and then put liquid on top of it, it will make your skin look cakey, and unnatural. Can I put my powder primer on before liquid foundation or does it have to be with powder foundation?
NEVER put powder on before foundation it crates a texture like a dough mix if you know what i mean, also you put the liquid on and the powder sets the liquid to last longer
if its powder, i think its suppose to go on the otherway arround other wise its gonna look blotchy and stuff
    im sure it is.

But for a better effect use liquid first.

Okay to mix tinted moisturizer with liquid foundation?

I have very oily skin, so using a moisturizer as well as liquid foundation makes me too greasy. However, if I don't use a moisturizer, foundation goes on a bit streaky. With that said, what if I add a tiny bit of TM to my liquid foundation? Does anybody else do this? I wouldn't be adding it so much for coverage as more oil control and easier liquid foundation application.Okay to mix tinted moisturizer with liquid foundation?
Totally fine.Okay to mix tinted moisturizer with liquid foundation?
Well if your skin is oily and you want to use your combination then I suggest use a loose powder to keep it from looking so oily. Don't use the powder that's compressed cause its held together by oils and it will only damage your skin. I add a little bit of TM to my liquid foundation but to match my skin tone, if it works then do it. As long as the shades match and the shine is under control you should be fine.

Is it still as effective if I wet the sponge before I apply liquid foundation?

I wet the sponge I use before I apply my liquid foundation because it makes it easier to spread around and blend, but is it still as effective as just applying with no water?

Basically, do you get the same results if you use water?

Because I have always used water because I save a lot of it. A little goes a lot longer with the water.

I hope that's not too confusing. Is it still as effective if I wet the sponge before I apply liquid foundation?
well...if it works for you then thats good. I would'nt do this because i feel like my foundation wont stay on as long as it's potential. But if you are trying to save on foundation then it makes sense. Too maybe you wanna try a different foundation, in which without water a little still goes a long way. =)Is it still as effective if I wet the sponge before I apply liquid foundation?
it has the same effect, actually you put less on that way so it looks more natural and you aren't clogging your pores as much either. Just be sure to not overuse your sponges (throw away after a few uses) because bateria does grow on it even when you wash it after use.

Any tips on how to make liquid foundation last longer with oily skin?

even if im applying a loose powder every so often my make up looks bad after only 3 hours! help? and it does the same thing even when im not using a liquid make up. it rubs off with the oil.Any tips on how to make liquid foundation last longer with oily skin?
I have 2 words for you girl - Bare Minerals, It is so awesome - my dermatologist recommended it. Actually it might help your oily skin since it doesn't clog pores - its so good for your skin! And it looks soo natural!Any tips on how to make liquid foundation last longer with oily skin?
this is gonna sound really really weird but a friend of mine would mix her foundation with Milk of Magnesia- it lasted longer and it helped to smooth out the foundation for a more even-toned look.
First you need to buy a product that can help your oily skin (here is one from neutogena)...

Do you know what makes your face oily and shiny? It's definitely not the food you eat. The truth is, oily shiny skin is most common in the T-zone鈥攖he forehead, nose and chin鈥攁lthough some people have oily skin over their entire face. The T-zone is more likely to produce excess oil than any other area of the face due to larger, more active oil glands. Your age and your genes can impact how oily your skin is. Increased hormonal activity, especially during adolescence, can also lead to increased oil production. Skin can seem even oilier during the summer months when hot weather leads to increased perspiration.

To help control oily skin, try products with formulas that reduce oil and minimize shine. First, wash your face with Deep Clean Cream Cleanser. Its oil-free formula cleanses deep down into pores, removing dirt, oil and makeup. After cleansing, use Deep Clean Astringent to effectively control excess surface oil and reduce shine. If you wear makeup, try SkinClearing oil-free pressed powder for touch-ups throughout the day. Its sheer coverage leaves you with a natural-looking, flawless finish, plus it gives you extra shine control.
    Try a powder
Try covergirl fresh look oil-absorbing sheets. You get about 25 little blue sheets in a pack and just wipe one of the sheets over your face to absorb the oil. It will leave your makeup looking fresh and just use the sheets as often as needed.
Use facial blotters. You apply them and blot your chin, cheeks and nose especially, they absorb the oils off your skin and don't take the make up with them. Just blot every 2-3 hours or as needed.

I used to work full time and go to school 4 hours after work, using blotters kept my makeup on and looking as good as it did in the morning when I put it on and kept my face from feeling like an oil slick.

You can buy them in the drugstore on the makeup aisle or on ebay or...

I am cheap though, and since the ones you buy are actually just little 3 or 4 inch squares of white tissue paper (like for gift wrapping), I have actually just cut up my own and put in a compact or baggie in my purse. You can get packs of tissue paper in the dollar stores.
Let me know when you find the answer, I have the same problem. Try switching foundations, some are more oily than others.
try using bare minerals instead of liquid foundation with oily skin,..

bare minerals is all natural and it's powder based,... it's even great on dry skin
use mineral makeup, though i don't recommend Bare Minerals due to the bismuth oxychloride

use a primer. the one i love is Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera gel
You need to purchase a foundation for oily skin and apply it after you wash your face. You should wash your face with warm water and then rinse with cold water. Another helpful suggestion is to use Stridex pads at night or anything similar to that. Powder should be applied lightly and only twice a day however, that doesn't always work well because it does come off. Try a foundation for dry skin (Lancome) is one of the best and one their face powders. With this daily regimen you should see good results!!!!
put a light touch of powder on over it , it will help your makeup stick longer
Maybe you should try using face wash then patting it fry and putting on foundation. I use clean and clear morning burst. Then i use dream mousse or covergirl foundation. it works on my face...

  • Can i use Liquid Foundation and Transcluent Finishing Powder?

Im buying this stuff from Clinique. Would it make my face look cakey? Can i use Liquid Foundation and Transcluent Finishing Powder?
i suggest that u use foundation all over and belnd it in very well then use the powder but only a little bit at at time a blend the powder on a circle motion to really blend it and to prevnt it from looking cakey apply a little bit and blend it in a circle motion all over but only use a little bit and one coat of owder apllyuing to much powder can tend to make it look cakey but use a little bit to finish of ur look this will help make ur skin look flawlessCan i use Liquid Foundation and Transcluent Finishing Powder?
The trick is don't put liquid foundation all over your face, just put it on your problem/discoloured areas. Mostly found under the eyes, around the mouth and around the nose. Then apply a light finishing of powder all over your face, but not too much. And BLEND your foundation, to keep it from looking cakey.

What is the best utensil to use for applying liquid foundation?

a really good foundation brush. estelauder do a really good one. its the quality of the hairs in the brush. mac do one, bare essencials. i use two brushes, a small concealer one, and a large one for foundation. What is the best utensil to use for applying liquid foundation?
I find my finger tips work best, just make sure your hands are washed first. You can use a sponge wedge or similar but they can harbour germs and grease and can leave streaky marks. But that's maybe cos I'm doing it wrong! What is the best utensil to use for applying liquid foundation?
I use my fingertips first and soft a sea sponge to blend. i find this so much easier than using a sponge applicator beacause i think its a waste of foundation coz moat sponges absorb too much foundation
    A trowel?????
A slightly wet makeup sponge works great. The makeup looks smoother and the skin feels hydrated.
a slightley dampened make up sponge, does the trick.
    definately a sponge
Either your fingers to control application or a circular sponge (if you moisten it slightly before, helps with a smoother application).
A good sponge...not too soft. Wedge shape is the best.
    finger
Liquid foundation spreads well when you use your fingers. but if you are sensitive about that you cau use a make-up sponge that are found in most cosmetic shops
Fingers for all over then a tiny make-up brush to go over individual blemishes.
    a hand
Do not build a foundation out of liquid!

    the house will fall down!
when i get my make up done professionally they use foundation brushes
i think the best tool for applying liquid foundation is your hand's.you can't go wrong it gives you an even all over cover.
A foundation brush it gives a flawlees result.
Your fingers are best as the heat from your hands help to smooth the foundation better.
    baby sponge!
your finger tips unless it is a really runny one in which case a sponge
    a small make-up sponge
either your fingertips or a sponge. i personally prefer to use my fingertips because i just feel like i get the best coverage but everybody is different. some people use a foundation brush, it seems interesting and i'd like to try it, but i don't know that i would.
Your fingers are always best - whilst a lot of people recommend sponges - these are quite dirty to be using in the sense that even if you wash them regularly - there is still a build up of dirt and bacteria on them and every time you apply make up with them you are spreading this and adding to it!

Fingers are also easier to apply it with because the make up doesnt get absorbed by them and they are just that bit easier to blend in with! xx
You can get a really good brush from The Body Shop it is especially for applying foundation, I cannot remember the name but if you go onto the website you will be able to see it. I have seen it in action it is really good!
your fingers. you have more control and plus most utensils waste it cos they soak it all up.
    clean fingers
Use the palm of your hand and fingertips, this way the foundation is distributed evenly useing a spong or brush wont give you that smoothness
i always use my finger. it works the best and doesn't soak up all the foundation.
    sponge
    Alcopol
use a foundation applicator or a small sponge should do the trick!
