You should get another one that's slightly too light for you and mix them together. Add a little at a time until you get the right shade for you. By the way try going up the same shop you bought it and explain them how you got the wrong base colour .. and suggest that they keep as SAMPLE and re bust you half the amount and you can purchase the right type for you
I always add some bronzer to it. Take some tweezers or a mechanical pencil with the lead tip broken off and scratch the bronzer (much like a violinists scratches rosin for their bow). Dip your finger in the bronzer powder, add the foundation and voila!
after you applied your liquid foundation apply a much lighter shade of blusher or pressed face powder or just go down the easy root and buy a lighter shade

Buy another one that's lighter and mix them.
I add a moisteriser to it. Make's it easier to apply then too :)
