How should I apply a liquid foundation?

It's Revlon's ColorStay make up, in a glass bottle and thick and liquidy.

With a sponge? Or with my hands?

I'm usin' it for coverage for acne, if that helps. How should I apply a liquid foundation?
I advise against using your fingers to apply foundation to your entire face, because it's hard to get even coverage that way and since there is oil on your fingers you are adding extra oil to your face.

You can use a sponge, but a brush works best. It gives you a flawless finish, because you can control how much you apply and apply your foundation in light layers. Put a dab of foundation on the back of your hand, tap your brush into the foundation and stipple it onto your face. Stipple is a fancy way of saying tap it all over your face. To blend the foundation swirl the brush in circular motions around your face. If you need more coverage in a certain area, then stipple and swirl that particular area again. Set your foundation with a powder and you're done. MAC ($20-30) has the best brushes, but they're pricey and any foundation brush will work well.

Here's a youtube tutorial that you can follow

put a tiny bit of the foundation on a triangular foundation sponge. and i mean a tiny amount! 2 much will make you look greasy! then start at your nose, and gently apply it, fron the middle of your nose out, then from inbetween your eyebrows and up. make sure everything is covered, then lightly use powder foundation.

this will cover everything up, and make you not greasy!
Well use cosmetic sponges like these -- http://www.sbcgels.co.uk/images/Pro_91SP鈥?/a>

all you do is get your find and dab some of the liquid on your face. One dab on your forehead, one dab for your cheek and other cheek to, one on your chin and one on your nose. than you get the sponge and just smear it on your face all around. Make sure if you wear eye make up or blush, that yu do it after.

If you don't or cant get a sponge for some reason you can always just use your hand and wash your hand after, it works too,
first so u dont get any more acne make sure that before u do anything base ur skin with lotion.

I use clinique... it works wonders

then... take a makeup sponge and blend it in loosely... make sure to blend really well around the hairline and neck... you want it to look natural. not like ur wearing foundation.

get a good film... if u can still see acne, next time you do it cover them up w/ coverup and then concealer and the foundation

add some bronzer for an earthy glow
You can use your fingers if you wash them before application.

Then just put it on the front of your hand and take your fingers and apply it spreading downward. Blend down the jawline and hairline. Buff it all over with a kabuki brush.
sponge. if you touch the spots, you will spread oil causing more acne.

try a green secret agent primer, also. green balances the red of acne.

i use a brush, which i bought at the clinique counter. it is very smoothe and gives your face an air-brushed look. i have one and i absolutely love it! they are about 28.00 dollars. hope it helps!
you should apply it with a make up sponge or a foundation brush, don't apply it with your fingers because that mixes the oils and bacteria on your hands on your face and can cause acne
Use a sponge and dot it around your face. Then also use the sponge to spread it out evenly.
Use a roller for even coverage.
Use those cosmetic sponges
