If you apply your liquid foundation with a brush, where do you put the liquid before applying it to your face?

I mean, I know you don't dip the brush in the small hole in the bottle, so what do you put your foundation on before putting it on your face?If you apply your liquid foundation with a brush, where do you put the liquid before applying it to your face?
You can use the back of your hand. By your thumb.

15 yr stylistIf you apply your liquid foundation with a brush, where do you put the liquid before applying it to your face?
Back of your hand... I think foundation sponge is better though..
I JUST USE MY FINGERS AND USE THE FOUNDATION RIGHT OUT OF THE BOTTLE
Put a small amount in your palm. It's best to dampen the foundation brush before you use it. Not wet, just barely damp. Then put your brush into the foundation in your palm and swirl around until you get the amount you need. Apply sparingly at first, then add to. Always brush down on your face, not up or across, except on your forehead. When finished, clean your brush, dampen very little and go over the whole thing. This will blend it all and look natural.
I pour a bit on my left hand and apply with my right.
You can use the back side of your hand (if it's clean), a clean paper plate/paper towel, or one side of a damp make-up sponge since you only end up using one side of it to finish blending your make-up anyway. Clean your foundation brush often of stock up on cheap ones that you don't mind disposing of.
i apply a little on my neck first
I dont think you can apply liquid foundation with a brush...
you pour a little on the back of your hand. or you can use a small plate.
The back of your hand is the best. Use a face primer first, ModelCo, MAC and Napoleon all have good ones, this makes your makeup glide on easier, apply it with your brush and this also helps the process. Start from the centre of your face and work outwards, this helps avoid tide marks around the jaw area

What do I put on my face before/after I put on liquid foundation?

Like moisterizer or something.

(It's my first time using makeup)What do I put on my face before/after I put on liquid foundation?
Okay, young grasshopper. (: haha justkidding,

okay so first you have to start off with clean hands and a clean face,

then since it is hotter these days, I'd suggest you put on a toner to make your face not as oily, if you don't have one of thsoe, drugstores sells a lot of cheap ones if you want, but it is not required to have it tho. After, you should moisturizer, no, YOU HAVE TO MOISTURIZE, if you don't, your face looks like a cakeface and YOU DONT WANT THAT. And also sometimes it just flakes and looks so ugly. And then after if you want you should put on a face primer, it makes your fuondationnnn stay longer, but that isn't required either. After that, you apply the liquid foundation,a nd after ALWAYS put a setting powder, any powder will do fine, even mineral powders or translucent powders.

It will just make your foundation stay put and it wont go all over your clothes. That is pretty much it, to take it off I'd suggest using your face cleanser then your toner because your face cleanser DOES NOT take all of your liquid foundaiton off, trust me. it doesn't at all.

Well goodluck honey . (:What do I put on my face before/after I put on liquid foundation?
Before putting on foundation---

Use a good moisturiser- it doesnt need to be expensive, i use the vaseline one.

Use a filler, I live in the UK and got mine from Superdrug- i am sure there are similar stores in other places in the world. A filler is just a clear liquid that you put on before using foundation or concealer. It fills the pores so that the make up does not go in. It is very good and stops you getting spots, dry skin. Also, the foundation goes on a lot easier. It is not expensive- mine cost around 拢5.

Also, when applying foundation- i use a foundation brush, it means the makeup goes on much easier and also the brush just puts a light brushing of foundation on which looks better and also is better for your skin.

When taking the make up off make sure you take it off fully and then re-moisturize again.
Before you apply foundation cleanse and tone your face to remove any dirt or previous makeup.

Alot of liquid foundations are moisturising as well so don't worry about a moisturiser but if it isn't moisturising then apply a moisturiser before you apply foundation.

When applying the foundation use a cosmetic sponge as this will help even out the foundation and not make it darker in areas . Make sure you don't leave a line around your chin so blend it in .

When you are ready to take your foundation off, use a mild face wash.

A cleanser is where you apply it onto your face and remove it with a pad whereas a face wash you remove it with water which is better for after wearing make up as the water will rinse out any excess foundation.

Use a face wash and rinse off with water, and then moisturise your face before you go to bed. Don't use a strong moisturiser if there is one in your foundation.

Hope this helps .
First, you should TRY (not all the time, only when you can) to cleanse your face before and after you use it. ALWAYS after, but only when you can before. Then, you want to moisturize your face, then apply the makeup. With liquid foundation you should probably apply it with a makeup square so you can spread it more evenly over the moisturizer. Then after, simply remove it and cleanse your face.
First, you need to put moisturizer to help moisturize your skin. Sometimes makeup can make our face dry

Second, put liquid foundation and apply it using hands, but I would suggesting you to use cosmetic sponge / wedges to help giving you the full coverage when you are applying it

Third, if you have dark circle or any place that you need to conceal, you probably will need to put on concealer to cover the imperfection's on your face

If you dont have any dark circle, you could just go on with applying face powder and finish off your makeup with your favourite lipstick color

Hope I helped
Before, you can put on mouisterizer if that's a part of your daily routine. If it is, you should wait at least 20-30 minutes before putting on liquid foundation so that your skin can absorb it. Otherwise, it'll absorb the foundation as well.

Also, you can use primer to create an even base for your makeup. For example:

http://www.revlon.com/ProductCatalog/Pro鈥?/a>

or http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

After, you can set your foundation with a pressed or loose powder, to reduce shine and make your makeup last longer.

Good luck!
i like to put on just a pea size amount of baby lotion on my face first then then the foundation, its amazing makes my face nice and soft when i take off the make up. :) hope it helped you a little bit
1.Moisturiser

2.Liquid foundation

3.Concealer

4.Powder
i put moisturiser on a freshly washed face then sunscreen (crucial to prevent premature aging of skin!) then my liquid foundation :)
Before: Moisturizer or sunscreen lotion or primer.

After: Powder (optional)
I usually end up beginning inexpensive and trying out tons products. Do what seems right and I bet your gut will be best.
Moisturise... Concealer

I use Almay Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation, bought bare naturale concealer -which one goes first?

I didn't like the idea of mineral foundation since my skin is combination and I thought it'd dry my skin. So Almay is pretty good. I didn't use the Bare Naturale Concealer yet ---- can you guys tell me which one do I apply first?I use Almay Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation, bought bare naturale concealer -which one goes first?
Most people use the concealer first, but you can do it last. I've found minerals are really good but dont recomend those on tv.

You can go back when you're through, %26amp; retouch your concealer also.I use Almay Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation, bought bare naturale concealer -which one goes first?
You can use the concealer first to cover dark under the eyes, freckles you don't like, breakouts or uneven color on your face. Let it set for a minute then apply your foundation. If you feel the concealer is too light or dark, you can mix it on top of your hand with the foundation to customize the color. If you ever see a product call foundation base, be sure to buy it because it goes on first and really works wonders for the complexion. Good luck!!

Best cheap ways to make liquid foundation darker?

I bought a Maybelline minerals foundation in Ivory.. In the shop it looked fine but when I got home and tried it on all over, I looked like a ghost :(

I don't want it going to waste.. so what could I add to it?

Thanks :)Best cheap ways to make liquid foundation darker?
either mix a darker foundation u might have lying around with it.

or get a darker powder foundation to put over the top.

xoxoBest cheap ways to make liquid foundation darker?
What I've done before is add the Rimmel fake tan make-up, to light foundation it helps the fake tan to blend in %26amp; give a natural colour then you can add either more of the tan or foundation to get the right shade.

%26amp; its only make up too so washes off!
use a lightly darker power over the top i have done that before to make my foundation match better good luck
Get another one somewhat darker, and mix it (:
another darker foundation or darker face powder to go over it

A brush, but it really depends on how much coverage you need. I have pretty moderate acne to cover up, and a foundation brush was just way too much coverage for me and I looked like a doll. So I now use just a blush brush with it and it looks sooo much nicer it just lightly brushes it on.
A foundation brush with synthetic hair is the best thing for you. Synthetic hair doesn't absorb any of the product at all. Just squirt out a pump of your foundation, dip your brush in it, then dot the foundation around your face, then blend them all together. Good luck!
    I've had this problem too.

Put on foundation first, unless you put on cover up. Do cover up first, then foundation. NO OTHER MAKEUP BEFORE!

Or try using a brush. MAC has some good ones, but the foam triangles should work fine...

Then apply powder, and eye makeup.

Is it ok to use the same brush for liquid foundation and powder?

you can but i dont recommend it.

the brush will get really cakey and icky really fast.

unless you want to clean it out alot:)

    hope this helpes hun!

but yea i wouldnt it might make your makeup look a little weird and patchy too.:/
I was going to say nah before i read the details of your question.

But if you never wear liquid foundation it should be fine, but expect some difficulties applying. Powder brushes are circular and poofy, and liquid brushes are thin with concentrated bristles.
Your brush might get a little chunky from the buildup of the powder and the liquid foundation mixing it up. I would suggest using a separates brush for your powder, but if you like using the expensive brush for both or if it workds for you then just remember to wash it every week.
its best not to use the same brush cause it will clog it up cause the powder will stick to the liquid. if you really wanted to you could do it, but you would have to put liquid on then powder and then wash your brush every day
well considering they are two very different brushes....

A liquid foundation brush is much smaller and more tightly formed into a flat smooth brush shape while a powder brush is big full and fluffly

  • Should you apply liquid foundation with your hands or with a brush?

I'm gonna buy the Cover Girl TruBelnd Liquid Makeup and I was just wondering if I should buy a brush too.Should you apply liquid foundation with your hands or with a brush?
Don't listen to the other people, using a sponge to apply your face makeup is bad because the sponge harbors TONS of bacteria and gross stuff. It's just nasty. Using your hands could work but make sure they are clean or you'll just be transferring bacteria to your face.

You should buy a foundation brush, it'll give you flawless, even application and it's MUCH more sanitary than hands or a sponge.Should you apply liquid foundation with your hands or with a brush?
I use to think that the sponge was the way to apply your liquid foundation until I tried the foundation brush. I would definitely recommend it… and it does not get your hands dirty. Report Abuse

I would personally use your fingers. Unless you wanted to spend the 410-$15 to buy a foundation brush. You should know though, that Cover Girl test their products on animals, so if you're fine with that go ahead and buy it, but if you're one of those people who are against people putting chemicals onto animals that burn their skin, then go to this website: http://search.caringconsumer.com/ they have a list of all the brands that DO test on animals and a list that DO NOT :)
I recommend either using a brush or sponges.

If you are going to use a brush you have to purchase the right kind of brush. Get a foundation brush.

If you are going to use a sponge get wedges. They have better angle and blends in really well and easily. Just first dip the wedges sponge into water then apply a pea size of foundation on the wedge.

Never use you hands to apply foundation.

don't really count on your hands to give you a dewy finish.

%26amp; your hands contains oil and when you touch your face a lot, the oils from your hands will clog your pores.

    Hoped i helped ~ %26lt;3 %26lt;3 %26lt;3
Between those two options I would def. say a brush! Now remember if you use a brush you have to clean it; I would say once a week. Here are some brush recommendations:

    190 Foundation Brush from Mac

    Brush Cleanser from Mac

188 Small Duo Fibre Face Brush from Mac ( this is for after applying the liquid foundation with a foundation brush / you use this one to smooth out any streaks and blend in the foundation for a lightweight seamless look)
I just use my hands to apply foundation. I had that exact brand and didn't notice any problem using my fingers to apply the foundation. If it appears streaky after you apply you might want to use a brush to smooth it out but any brush that spans a larger area would do the job. I don't feel as if you need a brush.

    Hope this helped :]
Your fingers are the best make up tool

just make sure it's sanitized before you touch your face :)

butt i believe the finish you achieve from using your fingers is different compared to using a brush...so you might want to try both methods and see which one suits you best
you should use it with your hands not a brush or if you just want to use a brush use a concealer brush but if you use a liquid foundation and its summer time it will slide and melt on your face.
Using a brush ends up saving you a lot of makeup. When you use your fingers to apply makeup, you waste a lot.
I use a sponge wedge. The foundation goes on seamlessly. Don't forget to blend towards your hairline, ears and toards the neck to avoid those telltale borders.
Neither, use a cosmetic sponge for even coverage and no mess on your hands.
You need makeup sponges. They sell them in the makeup area.
i use a kabuki brush instead of foundation brush, it works great. it looks more natural than when i use a sponge.
Apply it with a stiff penis
    not a brush.

    a sponge.

like the ones for make up
    a disposable sponge
    sponge for liquid..

Why do i get a burning sensation around my eyes occasionally when i apply liquid foundation around it?

The areas tend to turn a little red after that. Also, is make-up base important before applying make-up?Why do i get a burning sensation around my eyes occasionally when i apply liquid foundation around it?
It could be, and is highly likely, that your skin is being irritated due to your foundation (or whatever products cause this). Try to get products that say ';hypoallergenic'; on the label. These products will cause little to no irritation.

As for primers, I'd say yes. They keep your skin hydrated and moisturized. I use one. I have noticed a difference in makeup application and in my skin's health. I break out less and my makeup goes on smoother.

Buy t-zone from Lancome..it's like $22 dollars. You put this on before you put your makeup and it will stay matt. Also, buy those oil blotting sheets. Clean %26amp; Clear sells them for $7.

Good luck!Whats The best way to apply Liquid Foundation So my face doesnt look oily/shinny?
I think that you are putting to much stuff on and try rubbing it in your hands first... OTher wise try a powder...
I have this problem when I moisturize to much or use a certain foundation. I would suggest to try a different brand of foundation or let your moisturizer set for 20 mins before applying foundation and blot the foundation on with a sponge. Through out the day possibly try clean and clear oil absorbing sheets to tame oil and shine. Good luck!=)
What type of instrument do you use to apply your foundation? I highly recommend using a foundation brush rather than a sponge or your fingertips (which can make the face oily). Lancome make a fantastic foundation brush that can easily be washed with soap and water after each use (which will help curb the oil problem you experience). Also, consider a lighter weight foundation such as Lancome's Color Ideal.

    http://www.lancome-usa.com/makeup/founda鈥?/a>

Sometimes when using too heavy of a foundation formula (or simply too much) you can experience the ';flaky'; effect. Hope this helps! And yes ... I LOVE Lancome products! Ha ha!
First of all, you should make sure that your liquid foundation is for oily skin or prevents oil breakouts. The problem here could be also that you are applying more than needed. The best option for you and your wallet is to get a foundation brush. Why is this the best? Because the foundation brush applies the foundation much easier and more effectively and it also uses less and covers in a much better way. The best way of using it is squeezing a little bit of foundation on the top of your hand or wrist. Pat the brush on it and start applying starting from the top of your face in a downward direction. It's important that you do it downward cause it covers more and seals the pores and the whole application. If you need to moisten your brush, just put a little more in your hand and do it again. You will be amazed with how much foundation this will save, as opposed to using a sponge. A sponge is just gonna over-apply, gunk it up and absorb all the foundation you can save! After this, it's important that you seal your foundation with a loose powder. This is what helps it last longer and eliminates the sheen and oiliness. If your skin is naturally oily it is normal that usually in some areas even after the foundation application that it will get shiny again. It's always best to have a compact powder to touch up your foundation, so it can always be flawless and you will never appear to be oily. I hope this helps!
I am not a fan of liquid foundation I switched to tinted moisturizer. It give you a touch of color while still doing something good for your skin. I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer take a look at it http://www.neutrogena.com/CosmeticsDetai鈥?/a>

It has actually helped me fight off zits even before they have time to become large and obnoxious.

I love it, I think you will too, try it.
make sure your applying the foundation on clean skin and you aren't moisturing too much. It could be that your not using a good enough foundation. MAC has excellent foundations, and they can recommend wich one is best for you based on your skin type. Other than that try using a finishing powder over your foundation. MAC blot powder is really good. But it sounds like you have bad foundation.
Have you tried using a makeup pad instead of your hands? You can get them at CVS or Brooks or something for maybe 2 bucks. Put a little on the pad, and dab it into your skin, don't rub %26amp; smear. Also, you should try a pressed powder. It keeps your face fro looking oily. I don't know how I ever got along without it. Just swipe it on after you put on your foundation. Here's a link in case you aren't sure what it is.

    http://www.thefind.com/beauty/browse-May鈥?/a>

hmm, powder doesn't work? What if you switched over to JUST powder. Maybe it is the makeup you're using. You could also buy oil blotting sheets. I've never personally used them, because I'm cheap, ha, but my friend has them. She said they work great for her. Maybe you should change your face wash also. Buy one made for oily skin. Some of this probably goes beyond just the makeup you're using.

Oh and for the flaky thing... it could be dry skin. I know, you're probably thinking that since your skin is so oily, there is no way it's dry. It can be. Put a good face cream on at night. That way you don't look shiny during the day wearing it, and the dry skin will go away.
You can put on an oil control moisturizer before you apply the foundation.

But if you have naturally oily/combo skin there is not much you can do. My #1 suggestion is to purchase MAC's Blot powder ($20 will last a LONG time). It really controls the shine for at least 4-5 hours at a time. If you don't want to make such a big purchase at least invest in oil blotting sheets (clean and clear makes ok ones). Dab those on every couple hours and voila shine is removed.

Unfortunately, there is not a lot you can do to to stop it completely, you just have to manage it.
    DONT!!!!

unless your face is covered in wrinkles don't use it!

use bare minerals, its the best stuff i have ever used!

if you must wear the liquid stiff put some on your pointer and middle finger and rub it around, very very very lightly, dont make it heavey, then very carefully use a brush just to rub it in and to get any extra off your face that could, throughout the day, flake and get all over your clothes and everything else you face comes in contact with.

    hope i could help
put some on your finger and dab it on dont wipe or smear or try to blend it too mcuh b/c then it will luk crazy
I would try an oil-control lotion before putting on makeup. This will make your makeup last longer. I have oily skin (extremely) and have found oil control lotions the answer. Try one with Salicylic Acid in it!

  • What is the best liquid foundation for VERY light skin? I tried ivory, soft ivory but even that is too pink.?

Every now and then I get blemishes on parts of my face but most of my skin is very fair. I would like to even out my skin tone on those days to my natural look but I'm having trouble finding the right foundation that won't make my entire face pink or even worse orange. What brands have worked for you? Please don't recommend powder products they make my skin too dry. What is the best liquid foundation for VERY light skin? I tried ivory, soft ivory but even that is too pink.?
You might want to consider going to a department store to buy your foundation if you haven't already. A lot of drugstore foundations are too pink or orange for MOST people's skin, not just very light skin like ours.

Clinique has some good choices for very light skin tones; I have porcelain skin and I use their Perfectly Real makeup in Fair. Also, you might want to check out Stila's foundations, especially their lightest shades.

Another option you may want to consider--although it is expensive--is having a foundation custom-blended for you. Last I heard, Prescriptives offered this service. If you have trouble finding an exact match to your skin any other way, it's something to think about. What is the best liquid foundation for VERY light skin? I tried ivory, soft ivory but even that is too pink.?
my best friend has this problem, her skin is very very fair.

    she uses http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jh鈥?/a>

it moisturizers her skin, doesn't make her look cakey and is a perfect match for her, it completely blends in!
Go to the Prescriptives counter in a dept. store. They can match any complexion and will tell you the best blush and eye colors to wear, too. It's worth the price.
Philosophy makes a clear liquid foundation called ';The Present';. Yes, it is clear and yet it some how evens out my skin tone. And because it's clear, it looks totally natural. In fact, it makes my face look flawless, like an airbrushed make- up ad. I love this stuff! It allows my own color to come through and makes my skin so soft and smooth. It does cost more then drug store brands but a little goes a long way and it's worth every penny! I was so happy when someone finally came out with a CLEAR foundation. Philosophy is awesome! You can find it at sephora, drugstore.com and philosophy.com.

This is the stuff you are looking for!
Try bee luscious cosmetics liquid powder mineral foundation in the color linen its exactly what you are looking for.
There are corrective pigments you can use to even out skin-tone. Light green foundations help to even out redness - but don't use too much and make sure to blend it well. (You can mix a little in with your moisturizer to help it go on more even). You typically can't find that sort of thing at a drugstore however, I have seen a green tinted concealer stick at Walmart.

As the others said, the more professional quality stuff from a department store might be most likely to have a shade you need. You could also look around places that sell more 'alternative' cosmetics. Most of those, unfortunately, are on the internet so unless they'll send you a sample it can be frustrating trying to pick color. But places like goodgoth.com or Manic Panic both sell very light foundations (no, not just white :) , light, natural-toned colors).
I know most ';pale'; colors have pink undertones and I HATE it. I found one that works great for me because it has ';yellow'; undertones. It's Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation in the color Vanilla Cream and is by Bee-Luscious Cosmetics. You might be a bit little than me so I would check out the color Cream Beige. It also has more yellow undertones.

Can you put powder bronzer over liquid foundation?

I have always used powder foundation,.. but now I need more coverage and want to switch to mac liquid foundation. This is probably a stupid question, but can you put powder bronzer over liquid foundation without it being streaky and all?? I live off bronzer and don't want to change my whole makeup routine. Also ..I feel like liquid foundation is going to be thick and cakey feeling?..Is it?... Whats your personal preference? Can you put powder bronzer over liquid foundation?
I use liquid foundation and bronzer. And yes I also do live off bronzer myself. Hahaha. No it should be fine, I've been doing it forever (years) and never had a problem. Just make sure you blend. And liquid foundation doesn't feel cakey to me.. just don't get a heavy one. If your sensitive to it get what is called a tinted moisturizer (light foundation) that will even out your skin tone. But I prefer liquid over powder I feel like it looks more natural. Hope this helps(:Can you put powder bronzer over liquid foundation?
Yes, you can apply powder bronzer over liquid foundation.

Liquid foundation works good if you have acne scars. If not, than I think powder foundation is quicker and easier to use. If you are trying to cover up acne, then I don't think either of them is going to do a good job on your face.

Point is, yes..you can apply bronzer over your liquid foundation.
no its not cakey and thick feeling if you get a good one, it is actually gonna let your skin breathe. i find that liquid foundation is better than powder foundation especially for more coverage. and no its not gonna streak i do it everyday and it doesn't mess up anything! i personally have acne scars and i use liquid foundation over powder. liquid foundation tends to last longer on the face to:) hope i helped!
Yes... I do it everyday! lol

Some liquid foundations do feel very cakey when applied, especially if you put on quite a bit. I use Smart Shade makeup from Almay. I think their foundation is amazing. I decided to give it a try, and the first few times I put it on, my face didn't look or feel like I was wearing any foundation, but it was still able to cover up all my imperfections I wanted to cover. I love it! They have concealers and other products to go along with it, which I haven't tried, but I'm sure they're just as amazing!
Yes you can and do not over do the foundation or it will feel cakey !
    IDK WHAT EVER

Does anyone know of a great liquid foundation?

I'm looking for one that isn't too thick and won't cake. Also, my skin isn't the best so one with good coverage that works well with powder would be nice.Does anyone know of a great liquid foundation?

    BB creams! :)

The BB Cream, aka Blemish Balm, is the hottest beauty product in Asia right now. It has the advantages of both a makeup and skincare product. It can even out skintone, camouflage undereye circles, acne scars and add radiance to the skin without the heavy mask-like effects of a foundation.

I used to have horrible acne and it was hard to find a solution that a.) wouldnt clog my pores and give me worse acne and b.)would be a great coverup. I also didn't have much money so it needed to be affordable. Fortunately, Maybelline comes up with Pure Makeup, it's excellent for me. It's light, blends well, and doesn't clog pores. Good luck!
Try Almay Pure Blends. It's fairly inexpensive, but has good coverage and it doesn't make my skin break out. It has a powder that you can use on top of it as well.

really good and last long?Liquid foundation make up - where can I find a really good one? Which one of those expensive ones are actually?
I agree with Ladylove! Estee Lauder is the bomb. I use their liquid foundation; it's a little pricey, but totally worth it. The makeup is creamy and rubs easily and evenly into skin, unlike most other foundations. Sometimes people tell me that they don't even know I wear makeup! Plus, the stuff lasts forever, I've had my bottle for about 2 years now and it's only just starting to run out!Liquid foundation make up - where can I find a really good one? The good ones are Elizabeth Arden, Studio Gear, LORAC, Sue Devitt (Which is my favorite by the way), Smashbox, and Stilla.

Definitely mac. it may be a little more expensive but its so worth it.
The best foundation I have found is Lavera. It is 100% chemical free and therefore will not harm your skin in anyway. I buy it online. Good Luck!
I like Mark's mineral foundation. I know you said liquid but most liquids will encourage break outs on me. This one is not soooo shiny.

And its on sale. I like that the best.

Which do you prefer, mineral or liquid foundation?

I need something with medium coverage, that lasts all day, and prevents shine. I use liquid foundation now, never tried the mineral, and it has it's ups and downs. Which do your prefer?Which do you prefer, mineral or liquid foundation?
I personally love the mineral foundations. The coverage is suprisingly good, and it doesn't end up looking caked on and thick by the end of the day. It really depends on your skin type, if you have an oily skin then mineral foundations will probably do very well for you. Good Luck! Which do you prefer, mineral or liquid foundation?
I prefer powder or mineral foundation. I've heard that it's better for your skin, but I use it because it's faster and easier to apply. Plus, I can whip out my compact at school for touch-ups. Mineral foundation is also better at controlling shine. Especially if you set it with powder like I do.

I only use mineral makeup because it stays on for a long time. It has a naturally high SPF, and it's water proof to some extent. It absorbs oil, and is fast to touch up while you are out.

If you are going to go with minerals, just make sure that you are not buying anything with fillers like talc or cornstarch. Bismuth can irritate skin, so be on the lookout for that as well.
I've always hated liquid foundations. Definitely give the minerals/powders a try. Bare Minerals is all I use now, and I love it. My skin is somewhat oily and doesn't get shiny at all with it, and it has nice coverage without looking fake or cakey.
mineral makeup is a hoax. minerals are too big to disolve into ur skin, so they just sit on top. id go with liquid because it blends, doesnt look cakey. and looks natural

go with stila they have good liquid foundation
mineral or powder definitely. its wayyy better for you and it looks better too. i used to use liquid and it was just a mess
mineral is much better more natural for your skin i use it and sometimes fall asleep in it ,it does not clog your pores like liquid
mineral is wayy better than liquid!
I prefer mineral. There is no possible way that you can build a house on liquid.
Mineral makes your face look flawless and controls shine. (a.k.a. it rocks!!)

What is the best powder and liquid foundation for fair-medium skin tone?

clinique is good....i use it. and if you have acne they have a liquid that helps clears them up and oil free. AND they arent that expensive. What is the best powder and liquid foundation for fair-medium skin tone?
Mary Kay is one of the best.
I heard bare minerals works good, but you have to apply it alot throughout the day.
Penguin is absolutley correct Loreal Infallible is great for medium skin tones and you probably won't even need to use a powder as well. But if you do get something from Almay.
i use infalliable (sp?) by loreal, it's a liquid but i put on very little then i use this powder foundation i bought online from a company called mineral glitters, it's really great it really helped clear up my skin. i have fair medium skin also. for blush i like to use a light pinkish tone and not purple or orange ew.
well there's foundation out called dream matte mousse its brilliant for any skin colour. I'd recommend the fawn colour if u have pale skin
I have used bare minerals and found it has to be reapplied. I am using Loreal nude beige and it lasts all day if I remember to put lotion on underneath. I like liquid foundations in the winter to help with moisturizing and powder in the summer. Remember to cover with lotion (with sunscreen) first and the foundation: liquid or powder will work better. Good luck.
    Mineral foundations are great ;)
I would go to a major department store and explain to each counter that you are trying to find the perfect foundation for your skin and simply ask for a sample... that way you can see what works best for you... everyone's skin is different so what I may like may look and feel different on your skin... you know... I use NARS primer, foundation, and powder...
    bare mineral
clinique powder has skin tones that will match your easily, ringing out high cheekbones, or even making you look tan. their foundation is awesome too, and makes your skin glow. go to the make-up counter and find your clinique tones. good luck!
    don't know

Is LA Colors Liquid foundation good quality?

I saw that the LA colors foundation was only 4 dollars (so cheap!) and got excited because I've been searching for an inexpensive foundation for my makeup kit that also has darker shades (which LA colors have) =)

so to people who have tried this brand, how is the quality of their foundations? long lasting? comfortable? any comments? Is LA Colors Liquid foundation good quality?
I remember my wife tried it once and she was not really happy with it. She has problems with her skin and her skin was itching when she was using LA. So... probably not a good quality, but again, my wife has skin problems so she has to be very careful what she uses.

Can I dilute liquid foundation with water?

I recently purchased a perfect shade of Maybeline Age Defy liquid foundation but it is really heavy looking when applied. I was wondering if I dilute a small amount with water would it be OK?Can I dilute liquid foundation with water?
No. Dilute it with some of your moisturizer. I do it all the time. It feels really light, like you aren't wearing makeup. Can I dilute liquid foundation with water?
sure you can anything can be diluted with water.but i don't think its a good idea...my suggestion would be to get a cap ful or like get a contain n dilute it there but pls dont just put water in the whole bottle cause if it doesnt work ur screwed!money down the drain.
use a very thin lotion try to aviod ones with alot of oil in it
use a good face cream b4 applying it no i would not do that hun i use that and also am a cosmetologist but get some good facial cream its super for your face to it doesn't have to be costly a generic at walmart to oil of olay is what i use !!!
instead of water, i would dilute it with a touch of moisterizer. this makes the makeup more of a sheerer tint instead of being so heavy.
O K here's the deal. If IT not working for you anything you do to try to make it work is an improvement... YEAH? maybe try water or a little moisturizer or another old foundation that was working for you???????????????/ At this point can you go wrong?
It's okay to do this, but of the ways i have tried it i have found it best to put it on a makeup sponge, then add drops of water to it, right before applying it to your face.
    no.
Yes, it can be done. It's a pain in the butt though. Take it back and tell them you got an allergic reaction. They have to give you a refund as long as you have your bill. But I'd try something else. It's too much trouble to have to do that all the time!
    Yes, I have done this.
Okay, the real answer to this is that if it's water-based, diluting with water would probably be okay.

Otherwise, it's probably better to dilute with moisturizer, as others have said. Mix a bit of the foundation with a few drops of the moisturizer on your hand and apply with a brush/finger.
mixing it with a facial mousturizer would make it look a lot more natural
    No, I wouldnt recommend it.

Mix in face mosterizer instead, it dilutes it and mosterizes at the same time!

  • Does anyone know of any liquid foundation I can use along with a good press powder?

I currently am using Clinique (superfit makeup) liquid foundation which was $20 and I didn't have an extra $20 to buy the press poweder with it. The lady at the counter told me to use a press powder over the liquid foundation, so I bought Maybelline Shine Free-Oil Control Press Powder. The problem is that no matter what, my face is ALWAYS oily within the first 2 hours of putting the makeup on. I generally have really oily skin but I'm not sure if it's my skin or if the press powder isn't working. So does anyone know of a liquid foundation and press powder combo I can use to have at least 7 hours of normal and not oily skin and doesn't cost too much? I do have those Biore oil-absorbing sheets but if I use those, then I have to reapply my makeup all over....I know this is confusing but does anyone have ant suggestions? Please? :)Does anyone know of any liquid foundation I can use along with a good press powder?
First of all you should use a good cleanser just before you apply you make up to remove all oil from your skin and then apply an oil free moisturiser. Then use Avon's smooth mineral makeup, this contains 100% mineral pigments, free of talc, oil and fragrance and provides full coverage of a creamy foundation and the featherlight comfort of a powder. Then use a skin balancing natural powder for touch-ups.Does anyone know of any liquid foundation I can use along with a good press powder?

Can Bare Minerals Mineral Veil be worn over liquid foundation?

I have tried Bare Minerals Foundation, and I did not like it as much as regular liquid foundation. My skin tends to get oily, and Bare Minerals Foundation didn't seem to control the oil as well as my liquid foundation. I was wondering, however, if Bare Minerals Mineral Veil would work with setting my liquid foundation...you know, using it as a powder just to set my makeup. Has anyone ever tried this? My 3 year old just poured my liquid foundation (makeup) on my couch. What's the best way to remove the stain?

Immediately pour talcum powder over the foundation. (If you dont have that, corn flour will work just fine.) Leave for approximately 5 minutes, then vaccum off gently using a brush-less nozzle. Apply sards prewash spray to the spot, and use a clean white rag to wet the area. Apply some ordinary white (or colourless) hand soap to a wet white rag and dab gently until stain is removed. To dry, apply several layers of paper towels, and a heavy book or item to apply even pressure. Replace the wet towels at regular intervals. Do this for one hour, after which use a hair dryer to completely dry the area.My 3 year old just poured my liquid foundation (makeup) on my couch. What's the best way to remove the stain?

The best way would be to use a steam cleaner. If you don't have one, many supermarkets rent them. This will completely remove the stain.

You really have to experiment. Everyone has different skin tone, texture, and oils. So what may work for me won't hold up for you. Recently I've been mixing my foundations, mix 2 liquid foundations with a touch of liquid bronzer and it holds up pretty well. I've also been applying it with a makeup brush, it looks air-blown and even. Then I do a light sweep of powder concealer over it and weird but I spray a little hair spray in my face. It actually works, it'll keep the powder in place and everything stays set, just like your hair.Whats the best smooth-looking flawless liquid foundation that you've ever used, that stays on?
Almay Smart Shade! I could never wear foundation before, it never quite blended right no matter what I did or how many shades I tried. So I finally tried this one and it's amazing. Very light, you can't even tell you have it on but it smooths out your skin beautifully and you don't really have to worry about blending if you don't put on too much of it. I really love it. I hope this helps you out, and good luck with the search for the ever-elusive perfect makeup! :o)
Well, it depends on how your skin is. If you can't find something, go to the mall, and ask for a free sample on a peice of paper for every company. Go home and try them all on, and see which one you like best. Then, you can buy it, The one that I use is Cliniqe, but I only have it because somebody gave it to me. Be sure you get the skin tone that is perfect for you. Good luck!!!:)

really good and last long?Liquid foundation make up - where can I find a really good one? Which one of those expensive ones are actually?
I agree with Ladylove! Estee Lauder is the bomb. I use their liquid foundation; it's a little pricey, but totally worth it. The makeup is creamy and rubs easily and evenly into skin, unlike most other foundations. Sometimes people tell me that they don't even know I wear makeup! Plus, the stuff lasts forever, I've had my bottle for about 2 years now and it's only just starting to run out!Liquid foundation make up - where can I find a really good one? Which one of those expensive ones are actually?
The good ones are Elizabeth Arden, Studio Gear, LORAC, Sue Devitt (Which is my favorite by the way), Smashbox, and Stilla.

Can liquid foundation or base discolor a light green towel?

yes. Not much to fix it if it's been dried in a dryer. If not, try soaking in pre-wash or using a face cleanser made for waterproof or long-lasting makeup. Sometimes even eyemakeup remover can work. Put it on and rub the area together. Hope it helps-Can liquid foundation or base discolor a light green towel?
yes, for the time being until you wash it.Can liquid foundation or base discolor a light green towel?
Yes, unless you wash it right away.
    it'll wash out..

What's the best way to remove the stain?
vinigerMy 3 year old just poured my liquid foundation (makeup) on my couch. What's the best way to remove the stain?
The best way would be to use a steam cleaner. If you don't have one, many supermarkets rent them. This will completely remove the stain.

Another solution would be to use make-up remover wipes, or color safe bleach...GOOD LUCK!!

I'm forty something. Don't care for liquid foundations. Whats your opinion on the mineral type products?

mineral makeup is great, and takes much less effort to apply/blend than liquid. i have dry skin, but it still turns out great!I'm forty something. Don't care for liquid foundations. Whats your opinion on the mineral type products?
Mineral type products are good if you have normal to oily skin. If you have dry skin, the product doesn't really stick to your skin and will make your skin actually look dry and ashy. Which is usually why mineral products aren't always recomended for the ';mature'; skin type. If you do choose to go with a mineral product, make sure you moisturize your face for all day and even coverage :)I'm forty something. Don't care for liquid foundations. Whats your opinion on the mineral type products?
I bought the mineral type makeup. It is very light and easy on your skin but it doesn't cover anything. It only looks good on flawless skin.
MINERAL!! It is so nice. It's light, and it blends wonderfully. I think one brand is bare essentials, but there are many. Go for them! No cakey mess, and it's very light. Good luck!
Bare minerals. Iim using it and Im liking it.
I use Bare Minerals and I like it.....why dont you find someone that sells it and let them do like a ';makeover'; type thing on you....wear it for a day and see what you think
by far the best Mineral products on the market are made by Arbonne International, they are pure safe and beneficial swiss formulated and made in the usa check this site out

I absolutely love them and so do my clients! My favorites are Bare Escentuals and Arbonne. They work well for women of all ages, skin types and living in different climates.

My suggestion is to make sure that you moisturize and to use a primer. Bare Escentuals has a new one out. Smashbox and ColorScience also have good primers. This will keep your skin looking smooth and will reduce the chance of the minerals caking.

    Good luck! :)
i love bare minerals. I have been using them for 1.5 years and haven't worn liquid foundation since i made the switch!
i know that minerals are good for your skin.I think you shoud pull out a diction and in you foundations find out what is in your makup its all about health to make you look younger. trust me i work @macys
I forget the name of mineral foundation that I use, but it's the kind you can get a nomral drug stores. I love it. I use to only use liquid, then my mom bought the other stuff for me. I think it works awesome. It makes my face appear one color, without feeling cakey, and it blends in very well, you can't even tell it's there.

• Can you please recommend a good liquid foundation?

Every single liquid makeup I have tried leaves my face muddy looking. I cannot get a smooth finish. The only way I can get a smooth finish is by using Pancake Makeup. But it is so heavy..............Is is just my skin or is there one out there that wont do this? Also has anyone tried the Bare Minerals type makeup and is it good? Can you please recommend a good liquid foundation?
I use studio fix fluid by mac with a 109 brush... leaves my face flawless. :D about 35 bucks maccosmetics.com

Revlon color stay is also a good foundation 8-14$ drugstores

    my new found love...

    Maybelline wonder finish liquid-to-powder foundation...

    i got mine for 2$!

I've used bare minerals and it broke me out... i like pur minerals better. Can you please recommend a good liquid foundation?
I didn't like Bare Minerals because it made my face feel dry and powdery. I know it is mineral powder, but I definitely think there are some kind of salts in there too that make your face sting if you sweat a little or when your pores open up. Also when you smile it feels like your face is cracking, like its soooo dry. Its very irritating. I use Cover Girl Aquasmooth makeup. It gives you a good coverage and feels nice like a liquid makeup but easier to blend it. Also it could be that you are using a shade thats too dark for your skin tone. I would go to Clinique or a place like that at the mall and have them match a foundation to your skin tone.
I like Covergirl foundations too, I find them very nice...but go a shade lighter if it's somewhere in the middle, I'd say, because mine is too dark and it makes my face look orange.

I have a liquid foundation...it was very nice, I can't remember what it's called though. Edit: Oh! Now I remember, it was Estee Lauder....40 dollars though...

    And Bare Minerals is okay.
I've used bare minerals but it's kind of expensive

right now I'm using neutrogena healthy skin enhancer

it works really well because it's very light but still makes your skin an even color
I like covergirl clean foundation. its only like 4 dollars so its worth it to try it! and it is better than a lot of high-end makeup ive used.
I use Almay. The one that goes on white and blends to your skin tone. I like it.

What is better? Liquid foundation or tinted moisturiser? And what's the difference?

I normally use Liquid foundation but my skin is going through a dry patch, looks ok until i put foundation on (after i've cleansed, toned and put hydration moisturiser on) My friend uses just tinted moisturiser and her skin looks good. But my face is very freckly so don't like to look too bare. Please help. Can you recommend UK products as that's where i live. Thanks. What is better? Liquid foundation or tinted moisturiser? And what's the difference?
But I love freckles! A tinted moisturizer is more sheer than foundation, which gives more coverage. If you're wanting to hide the freckles a tinted moisturizer probably wouldn't do it. It does give a bit more moisture, but less coverage. Have you tried a cream foundation? They're recommended for dry skin. I wish you luck in your search! Love from america! What is better? Liquid foundation or tinted moisturiser? And what's the difference?
I personally prefer tinted moisturizer over liquid foundation because it is lighter and more natural looking.

My favorites are Arbonne's and Aveda's. I know Arbonne is available in the UK, but I am not sure about Aveda's. I also know that Arbonne's Tinted Moisturizer is actually good for your skin. I would also recommend a makeup primer to wear under the tinted moisturizer and a good loose powder to set the tinted moisturizer after applying. Arbonne also has both of those products. I know Aveda has the powder, but am not sure about the primer.

You can contact me if you need help finding either.
personally i prefer tinted moisturiser but depending on how dark your freckles are it might not cover them up. if you decide you want to try liquid moisturiser why not go into boots and test it out as they have loads of testers for you to try. then you can see if it will give you enough coverage.

my personal favourite is 17 sheer cool foundation. ive tried others that are lower and higher in price but i have found this to be far better. as this is a 17 product, you will only find it in boots for 拢4.49. (which is very reasonably priced and cheaper than a foundation). i use it every day and the tube lasts me about three months.

how about using a concealer and a tinted moisturiser? a liquid concealer works best for covering freckles- the body shop do a great one.

if this doesnt work and you want to use foundation, i would reccomend rimmel lasting foundation. my friend uses it and it does a really good job on her freckles and you have to look really close to see them.

a good pre make up routine for dry skin is important to prep the skin. exfoliate gently to remove flaky skin. dont overdo. gentle toner, moisturiser - elizabeth arden eight hour cream is best (although a little pricey) as an overnight treatment too. massage and work it into skin. for daytime before foundation this works well too- use a tiny bit as a little goes a long way. use as above, massage well into skin. leave it for a few mins before applying foundation. good luck.

    hope this helps

I think a tinted moisturiser would be OK. I like Boots one

Whats a good liquid foundation with good coverage for very very pale skin?

im 16, and have acne (runs in th family), and has very very pale skin and redness so am trying to find a liquid foundation with very good coverage, and is pale enough so i don't go orange!! I've tried mineral powders but don't find they cover up as well and makes my skin a little bit dry... and suggestions?Whats a good liquid foundation with good coverage for very very pale skin?
I am the palest of pale and have tried everything! My fave for great coverge is Mary Kay Full coverage foundation. Covers yet looks natural, stays all day even through humid florida weather. I love it. And there are 8 shades in ivory that are all nice and pale so you can find your perfect one. I'm a 100 during the winter and a 105 in the summer. I went on ebay and bought an assortment of samples to try out colors at home but your local mary kay person can help you decide on colors too.

My fave drug store brand is Loreal Visible lift in pale. Covers the red, stays on and comes in a shade called pale that works great for me.Whats a good liquid foundation with good coverage for very very pale skin?
For good coverage, you'd have to use liquid, and then a powder.

I use almay clear complexion foundation in naked and loreal bare esentuals powder in light ivory. It covers really well.
cream foundations offer the best coverage

How do i get my liquid foundation out of my brand new white top?

its dried in as i didnt notice, im really annoyed as it costed me 60 quid for it! Pleasee helppppppp!!!!!!How do i get my liquid foundation out of my brand new white top?
use something like spray and wash.

    or a tide stick.

dont use bleach it will make it yellowHow do i get my liquid foundation out of my brand new white top?
id try the tide to go stick or bleach(depending on if the shirts is all white and what material it is.
If it's white cotton use a bleach and wash at 95掳 with other whites. If it's synthetic use vanish oxy action and wash as above.

NB. Washing at high heats doesn't shrink your clothes, drying them does, so leave it outside to dry.

How do I stop my concealer from rubbing off when I put liquid foundation over the top?

I use Almay if that helps...How do I stop my concealer from rubbing off when I put liquid foundation over the top?
Put the liquid foundation on first! Thats what I always do. Then you can touch up what you dont like with the concealer. I've been doing this like every day for so long and my skin always looks flawless. How do I stop my concealer from rubbing off when I put liquid foundation over the top?
Set it with translucent powder before applying the foundation then use an application sponge, dabbing the foundation on instead of rubbing it on.

I love Loreals Mineral Powders as a foundation replacement. It is much better for your skin and you can even sleep in it!

    Hope this helps.
This shouldn't happen. You either have a bad brand of concealer or foundation. Concealer is meant to go on under foundation, so it shouldn't smear away. you chould also use the same brand of each becasue they are formulated to work together. Check out our products at:

    http://www.marykay.com/tkeagy
I hate putting the foundation on first.

What I found works is if you use liquid concealer then let it sit for a few minutes before putting the foundation over it. OR since I'm always in a hurry I switched to using pressed concealer that I dab around under my eyes with a brush. Because its thicker it isn't affected by the liquid foundation. I like liquid foundation best so I won't switch my foundation but I can use a few different concealers. Cream concealer is the next best thing from liquid because it's not too heavy.
In my experience, it doesn't rub off under the eye so maybe the problem for you is the concealer rubbing off of blemishes. In that case, use the foundation first, then the concealer, and finish up with powder to set everything.
After listening to male co-workers ridicule that makeup (foundation and stuff) ,

I suggest you consider stopping it .

It always looks fake and trashy .

( Unless you are on stage and the nearest viewer is 50 feet away)

The only reason to use it would be if you had severe burn damage from a fire or the like and the foundation was preferable to the burn scars .

    %26gt;
I don't know much about liquid foundation, but I use concealer and then a powder foundation that I put o with a brush. It doesn't rub off the concealer, and it helps by sticking to it so it lasts longer
It shouldn't do that. Does your foundation have any type of oils in it? If it does that would explain the rubbing off.
Here's a trick,,,,,,,use your concealer after you put on your liquid makeup!!! It works alot better and lasts longer. Just start with a small amount untill you figure out how much you need,,,,then use your finger tips to blend,,,,not a sponge or makeup puff. YOU will be surprised at how good it looks. And by the way,,,I use Almay too,,,,,just experiment a few times and you'll get the hang of it!!! Take it from me,,,,,,,I do Makeovers for people,,,,,and they always Love my style,,,,let me know how you like it!!! SUE~~

What is the best liquid foundation?

I need a good lasting foundation, i've tried cover girl but doesn't do the job. Any other suggestions, thanks. What is the best liquid foundation?
This is what I use, It gives you a very airbrushed look at I love it:

-start with small amount of facial lotion (I use clean and clear because it helps to keep breakouts from starting)

    - then I use maybelline dream matte mouse

-almay true match foundation to even everything out

    - then maybelline Liquid mouse to finish it off.%26lt;-- if you get anything get this. it minimizes pores and it stays on all day.

hope this helps! =]What is the best liquid foundation?
MAC mineralise satinfinish spf 15 foundation. Its liquid, has great coverage and stays on all day.

You could also try to use a primer before and a translucent powder after using foundation to ensure it stays on during the day.
well im not the biggest fan of liquid...it always broke me out...i started using Dinair Airbrush Makeup 2 years ago and i LOVE it..it covers everything and makes my skin look flawless...its also all water based so its not bad for ur skin..so i suggest googling Dinair..but anywho..hope i helped...=)

But overall the good liquid foundation is Laura Mercier oil Free Foundation, it's $42. Or u can tryI.d Bare Minerals for $25.
I recommend, Moisturize by Coonobabe. I have normal skin. If you have oily use their Savila base. It costs $14, and they ship it 4 free. Hope this helps.

  • What's the best to use to blend liquid foundation? sponge or brush?

If brush - which is the best one to buy from mac. What's the best to use to blend liquid foundation? sponge or brush?
If you use cheaper fohndation, then use a sponge. But if your foundation is more expensive, the sponge will absorb it and so you will waste some of it- in this case you'll need to use a brush. Check out fafinettex3's videos for tips on blending foundation and which Mac brushes to use too! :)What's the best to use to blend liquid foundation? sponge or brush?
I have found that using a skunk brush ( MAC 187 ~ duo fibre brush) gives the best results when applying liquid foundation. It literally leaves no streaks on your face compared to a reg foundation brush ( think MAC 190), as well as it gives an ';air-brushed'; finish. It doesn't soak up or waste as much foundation as a sponge would either. It's awesome for thicker foundations too as it doesn't apply cakey on the skin.

When I say ';skunk brush'; it just means that the tips of the brush are usually white, and the rest of the bristles are black. Aka ~ skunk. lol! I know you said that you're not on a budget, which is good I suppose as MAC's 187 is about $42 or so. I do know that Target carries one called Sonia Kashuk (sp?) Highlighting brush, which is also black %26amp; white, and costs around $14 or so. In my opinion it is comparable, if not better than MAC's. My MAC 187 sheds like crazy.

The skunk brush also is great for applying highly pigmented blushes, cream blushes, as well as powder too. It is a very versatile brush. I love it so much I have 3 :) Hope this helped some?
I use both. I first apply the foundation with a brush and then blend with a sponge. Then finish with loose powder.

Make sure you ask for a foundation brush, they are different from the blush and powder brushes. I bought my foundation brush from Chanel, but I'm sure that MAC makes one as well.
It really depends on your skin, the type of make-up you use and how much you're putting on. With most liquid foundations I use a sponge. Wet it slightly at first to make the foundation blend easily. Good luck! x
i think it depends on your skin and your skins texture, i have large pores and oilly skin - i prefer to use a sponge and then powder with a brush.
    Liquid = Sponge

    Powder = Brush

I don't think that will work very well coverage wise, but hey, you can try it and tell me if it does work. I never tired it.Can i make homeade liquid foundation my mixing my powder foundation w/ moisturizer?
i've tried this before. at first it seems like it works, then it turns orange and cakey (for my skintone anyways). i would recommend using some concealer on problem areas and then using the powder foundation over it until you can go to the store and pick up some actual liquid foundation.

Does anyone know of a good brand of liquid foundation?

Not too expensive. I've noticed my current makeup tends to get flaky and worn throughout the day. I currently use neutragena (not sure of the right way to spell it)Does anyone know of a good brand of liquid foundation?

I used covergirl Advanced Radiance and I loved it, it's about $6 and workd great.
I use Clinique ^_^ ugmmmm not sure if it fits the not too expensive part though O_O
It`s Neutrogena, I think. Almay works well for me! It is $9-$11 for a bottle, and they have tons of choices for different ages, skin types, or coverage levels. It lasts all day. If you shop at like Target it is often on sale.
a lot of people say that the revlon colorstay liquid foundation works great. its like $10 at cvs

u are going to laugh but I am not joking- I bought this liquid foundation from a 99p store for a laugh bt it turned out to be totally Ace.

Whats the point of liquid foundation?

I bought this CoverGirl liquid foundation %26amp; it does not cover up at all. Is it something with my skin or should I switch to like powder or something?Whats the point of liquid foundation?
Covergirl is just not a good brand, in my opinion. It's best to go to a makeup store to ask what would match your skin better. The oiliness/dryness of your skin affects it as well. The method in which you apply it will determine whether it turns out smooth or not, so make sure you're applying it properly. Try out different types of cover up and see what is right for you. It's your face, so it's best to invest in the best for it! Good luck!Whats the point of liquid foundation?
If you are not getting any cover up try a different brand or loose foundation and put it on with a brush. Trial and error.
Depends on the kind you got. Some are just ment to even out your skin and not cover-up Try getting one that says conceler and is a thicker liquid. For a better finish follow with loose powder
to achieve the airbrush even skin toned look try the powder. :D

What powder should i put over a liquid foundation?

i have dry skin %26amp; just found a good liquid foundation but after i put it on my face looks shiny. can i put powder over it or would it make it look cakey? and if i can, do you have any good suggestions for just a light powder to put on after? What powder should i put over a liquid foundation?
Make sure you wash your face and moisturize with an oil-free moisturizer to get rid of any oil before applying foundation. Depending on your price range, Maybelline has a very good translucent powder that soaks up any oil and sets your make up. If you can afford something more pricey, then go with MAC.What powder should i put over a liquid foundation?
Clinique, or over the counter loreal, what did you bu, do you have allergies, loose powder for makeup artist you brush small abount and just dust it lightly for a completed look i work for lancome and clinique, borghese and mary kay i knw alot and have beeen into traveling makeup artist. let me know what brand i can tell you and are you light med olive skin tone, acne prone, dry patches and do you use a scrub and what is your cleaning regimins,

Normally for best results:(if you cannot afford clinique use over the counter)

Cleanse, pommegrant foam by murad is good, tone with rosemary or some toner, scrub 3 to 4 times a week the best is 7day scrub by clinique or use a natural buff pad and use it sparingly and lightly, then moisturize you will see a huge difference,

Try it on your hand (left) then apply your foundation watch how natural it looks and on your right hand apply it without treatment and see how long it takes to go in and how different it looks. you will be amazed!!!! makes a huge difference.

Anymore question feel free to ask...

  • Will liquid foundation work without powder?

I left my powder in one of the bathrooms at school (by accident). =P and all i have is liquid foundation. Should i put some on my whole face or just where i really need it??Will liquid foundation work without powder?
I put it on my whole face, it will work well! :) good luck :)

also, my favorite brand is Almay Clear Complexion. Will liquid foundation work without powder?
Don't only put it where you need it because then you will get uneven skin tones. Make sure you blend it in very carefully so that you don't have any lines. I suggest getting another powder asap because with only the foundation and nothing to set it, it will run, rub off, or just simply fade throughout the day!
Wear it where you need it and blend well. You'll look great and natural.

Do U use a sponge or a brush to apply liquid foundation?

Okay I wanted to know if you use a sponge or a brush to apply liquid foundation, I just bought a foundation brush but I've used damp sponges to apply foundation but a lot of people are using brushes and i wanted to know which comes out better?? which looks more natural and more finished?Do U use a sponge or a brush to apply liquid foundation?
Well, it comes down to a matter of preference, for more coverage, and a polished and flawless look, you would use a brush; however if you wanted a more sheer almost bare/natural look, you would use a sponge. Then it comes down to your application technique, if you usa a brush and spread it on, you get a more flawless covered look, where as if yu use more of a dabbing or blotting application type, you venture closer to the look you get with a sponge, not exactly, but closer to that look. Spreading it on with a sponge looks more smooth, but it does not always cover evenly, blotting it on with a sponge covers, but may not exactly provide the look you want, however is more easily corrected than some of the other methods.Do U use a sponge or a brush to apply liquid foundation?
Fingers are the best way to apply Liquid foundation cause the Warmth from your fingers help blend the makeup better into your skin.

Sponges absorb most if the makeup, That's very true

Brushes are great but sometime (foundation brushes) can look streaking on you so that causes for Little more blending your going to have to do.

I like to use my fingers.
When you use a Brush or a SPONGE it doesn't come out natural looking. The best way it to apply tiny dots around your face then rub it in with your hands. Your hand do a better jobs because it gets it more rub into your face and plus brushes are for power foundation sponges are for PANCAKE-makeup\foundation. Use HANDS!
I personally use a sponge for liquid foundation because I get the most even coverage with it. Then I use a brush for the finishing powder.

I don't know--the whole liquid on face brush thing never appealed to me. Works for some people though. I know it works well for liquid concealer.
I use a Clinique foundation brush. I love it. I get a perfect look every time with very little effort, and the brushes are much more sanitary in my opinion. You can wash the brush every day if you want to, but three times a week is probably enough.
The cleaner the tool, the better. That's why I use my fingertips. If you use a sponge or brush, you waste half the foundation on that and go through product more quickly. I haven't seen a difference so I just dab away with my fingers and don't have to worry about having to clean my brushes.
I use a foundation brush. I think it looks more polished. just make sure you blend your foundation in well and you'll be fine.

I would suggest purchasing brushes from somewhere like MAC or Bobbi Brown. Better quality and the bristle wont shed on your face and get mixed in with ur foundation.
A lot of people like to use a brush but I do not because it would not make any difference to me. My fingers work as well. They say that mineral liquid foundations are more likely to set better with a brush but I honestly do not see a difference-
um....im not sure....when i get my makeup done at Benefit they use a sponge, but at Clinique they use a brush.....i dont usually wear foundation though, but a brush applies more deeply into the skin and a sponge applies it so it will sit on the skin
I would never use a brush to apply liquid foundation. because then the brush gets all droopy and discolored and it wont last very long, and it doesn't blend it in quite right.
sponge. a brush make mine streaky but if you pat on the foundation and don't rub it all over, it comes out really natural looking like you haven't put any kind of concealer on!
    brush

the sponge soaks up liquid therefore less product is on your face therefore you need to take more and more for proper coverage therefore, you use up the product faster therefore, you waste more money
Use you hand!! You waste half the foundation on a brush or a sponge! Plus I find it the only way to get in the place that really need it, under eyes, nose etc.
Sponges have a tendency to soak up liquid makeup. Brushes provided a better more natural finish.
I always use a sponge and then use a brush to add a light dust of powder the same collour and that always works best for me xxx
    Brush to apply

then even it out with a wet sponge

Fingers are never bad! but the thing to remember with any of these three is to keep them ALL clean!!

    xo
Yes i use sponge for liquid foundation
i always use a sponge for my make-up and then dust over a little powder with a brush. try mac.... it's awesome.
I use a MAC brush. =] I feel like the brush is safer and cleaner
trial and error ! It is different for everyone. I myself use a beauty blender sponge some days and other days..... well i just use my hands!
i use a clinque brush, it makes your skin feel more 'aired' than sponges!
    i use my hands n fingers x
