Do you also follow with a powder? I've only ever used Covergirl's simply powder, which is like a liquid to powder foundation, and recently I got a deal on a liquid foundation, so I thought I'd try it, but so far, I haven't really liked it. I thought perhaps I was doing it wrong. I use a sponge and try to spread it all over my face then I've been adding a powder on top. Is that right? How do you apply a liquid foundation for best results?
wash your face
apply light moisturizer
apply foundation with a sponge
apply light lose powder with a brush - mineral make up works well
apply blush/bronzer in moderation, do your eyes and lips and voila! How do you apply a liquid foundation for best results?
Sometimes I need to apply a concealer, just depends on my face. ;-) So, I'll start with that.
I apply small dots of concealer at a time. Gently touch the concealer onto a blemish %26amp; blend well at the edges. Don't apply more than two coats of concealer at a time, or it will look obvious that you're trying to hide a blazing zit.
With my liquid foundation I dip a qtip into the bottle once %26amp; hold it over the bottle top to let the extra drain off. Then use it like a crayon to draw a thin line across your forehead. Apply down the center of your nose, across each cheek in a zigzag pattern, %26amp; across your chin. Dab a bit on your eyelids. Using a Qtip doesnt waste any foundation this way %26amp; I dont over apply.
Next I use a sponge %26amp; smooth each line towards my hairline %26amp; gently blend foundation into my skin. Make sure you get some on your jawline %26amp; neck, so it won't like you have a mask on.
I just lightly apply powder on my face to set the foundation. Then I carry a small powder compact with me to touch up my makeup.
i squeeze foundation on my fingers and gently massage it into my skin (make sure you wash your hands and face before, so you dont spread germs and break out.) using your fingers and not a sponge gives you more control. and no, you dont need to use a powder after, it will make you look like your face is painted on :)
good luck!
i find that using ur hands is much better, becuz the warmth from ur hands makes it easier to spread it evenly %26amp; doesn't leave u w/ an uneven layer. Using a brush cna leave a weird brush stroke sometimes so just use ur hands its much better!!! Try to refrain from using a powder after it'll b too much makeup..
use a lip gloss brush, like the ones with the very small tip at the end, im not saying the one tht comes outta the botttle with the lip gloss! im tlking bout the small brush u use on your lips, dip it n the foundation, and put it on blotches where it needed %26amp; no, u dont need 2 follow with powder
MY ROUTINE: with clean face
moisturize (let sink in for baout 2-3 min.)
use a primer to set foundation (smash box face primer)let sink for about 3 min.
foundation with a foundation brush
than with a sponge go over my face to get rid of streaks
pressed powder to finish it off
you don't need to add powder on top, cus the liquid foundation is like the powder foundation except its in powder, and using a sponge is fine, just don't put alot on the sponge cus it will look to fake then!!
allright, i take a brush and dab it, let it dry, and THEN put that powder over it. i got my foundation at Dillards and it workd wonders. professionals match you up with your perfect shade!
first you need to moisturise and let it sink in to your skin then your foundation with a sponge or brush or with clean hands than powder on top
