What powder should i put over a liquid foundation?

i have dry skin %26amp; just found a good liquid foundation but after i put it on my face looks shiny. can i put powder over it or would it make it look cakey? and if i can, do you have any good suggestions for just a light powder to put on after?What powder should i put over a liquid foundation?
