How to apply liquid foundation?

I recently bought MAC studio liquid foundation. It works well, but I don't think I apply it properly, I use a sponge, but alot of it ends up in my hairline and eyebrows. After I apply it, should I top it off with a translucent powder? Also, I have some red spots from pimples how can I conceal theese well ( I use a concealer, but doesn't seem to reduce the redness much). Thanks. How to apply liquid foundation?
OMG I USE THE SAME THING! lol. Anyways, don't use sponges, they soak up the foundation :(... so basically, you are wasting it. Buy a brush, they recommend it at MAC, but you can even buy one at drug stores, ask them about ';QUO';. I got mine for $15. You can even apply it with your fingers, works really well too. Wrap a headband around your head, also buy some wipes, wipe it on your eyebrows and lips after apllying your foundation, as well as the hairline too! Baby wipes! How to apply liquid foundation?
There are so many great websites to use to solve this problem.

ps. MAC is a very good quality makeup company

Here's a video so you can see how it's done:

I suggest dabbing on some of the liquid foundation on your forehead / close to your eyebrows but not too close and then just take a sponge or a brush and blend it.

You can also hold a tissue to your eyebrows so the foundation goes over the tissue not the eyebrows.

Another tip is to take a Q-tip and put makeup remover on it and just apply it to your eyebrows and hairline.

For the hairline try a headband with a lot of 'teeth' so it can pull back the hair.

You can also take the foundation you put on your forehead and take a sponge (dont put any more foundation on it) and just softly blend and blend until the shade fits in.
First get rid of the sponge. Use your finger tips. Not only will the sponge leave alot you don't need it will also spread any ';germs'; your face is already trying to fight against. (i.e. the pimples.). Make sure your hands are clean. Put a DAB on your finger tip and apply a touch on your forehead , down your nose, across both cheeks and on the chin. Start at your forehead and rub OUT AND DOWN. Get as close to the hair line as you want, with practice you'll know where to stop. Do the nose area in an outward motion towards your ear and jaw line. Then do the chin and upper lip again in an outward motion. Use the palm of your hand to smooth any showing lines around the jaw line. As for the powder that's up to you but if you apply the foundation right you really shouldn't need it and you know what they say ';Sometimes less is more!'; Be sure to blend all areas of the face with your finger tips to blend and smooth. And stop worrying you'll look great.
The first thing you need to do is not use sponges they absorb all the make up!!!!! Get rid of them !!! buy a brush or use your fingers what i always do id put some on my wrist start from the jawline and do circular motion that will make it more evenly make sure you do upward motion not downward. For your blemishes get a concealer that is a little lighter than your skin, not that much lighter tap the concealer on the blemish and do circular motion around it . Because if you just apply some on the blemish it it will make it look cakey.

JUst use the upper stroke when applying a foundation, just gently and equally distributing the it on the face round the corner of the eyes and just a soft dab on the red spots.Use the concealer to hide the red spots and on top use the translucent poweder, then presto you look very beautiful ok?
rub it round and round until its even
