i recently bought a new foundation brush (not a stippling kind of brush, but like a flat brush) and im not sure how to use it. If you just brush the foundation on your face, won't it not actually blend into your skin?How do you apply liquid foundation with a brush?
Its going to seem a lot like painting because it is very hard to blend and streaks easily, but here is a video showing you how to apply liquid foundation with a flat brush and stippling brush. It talks about the pros and cons of both in then beginning and the applies the foundation side by side to show the difference. You can skip the parts with the other brush, though, so you get the information you need.How do you apply liquid foundation with a brush?
I find using a flat brush you have to work the foundation really well or else it will look streaky or uneven. it is possible to apply liquid foundation with this kind of brush, it's just not my preferred way.
you get the liquid onto the brush and apply it onto your face in kind of short strokes, make sure you blend it well and you will be able to avoid it looking streaky.
the first few times you try it may be a bit difficult to get the technique right, but the more you practice the easier it will be for you to apply the foundation well.
the best brush to use with liquid foundation is a synthetic brush.
anyway, if you want a natural/light coverage use brush strokes like your painting but if you want a bit more coverage put spots of foundation on your face and then dab them in with the brush. the foundation actually has to blend into your skin to make it look more natural and all - so make sure its a good foundation that wont completely block pores (this is why some people use tinted moisturizer or mineral products) otherwise make sure you give yourself a moisturizer before putting the makeup on and a good fash wash after taking it off. after applying the liquid you can put on a light powder foundation (optional) and make sure you put bronzer on to give it toning and color.
The way I do it is I put a little foundation on the corner of my hand then dab the brush in, a little at a time.
Dab it on your face to cover and then smooth it over with gentle short brush strokes to blend. If you get brush strokes you have too much foundation on, or it hasn't dried up enough... just dab and blend some more until you can see the brush strokes blending in evenly.
I love foundation brushes. I put a drop of foundation directly onto my brush, and 'dot' my face in the 5 key areas of my face: cheeks, forehead, nose, chin.
Then blend. First in a sweeping motion, and then in a circular motion to finish. If you have the proper shade for your skin, it will be flawless.
I don't use sponges, as they 'drink' up all the foundation.
Be sure to set it with a loose powder, for perfect skin.
Old school is still the best. Use a make-up sponge or your fingers. Been using my fingers for years, and have never had to worry about streaking or lines left by the brush. I also like the cream-to-powder foundations that are put on with a sponge, and dry like a powder. They blend really well and feel great. It's not that I'm against a new method...it's just that if what you've been using works, why change? Besides, it's just one more thing you've gotta keep track of. Keep it simple. %26lt;*)))%26gt;%26lt;
you put a little bit of foundation on the spot you want to cover and then blend it in moving your brush in a back and forth sweeping motion or in circles. if it still doesnt blend then dab it with the brush.
i hope this helps :)
Those brushes are for powder foundations! You never use a brush for a liquid foundation, you use a sponge.
powder yes. liquid NO WAY! it would be all smudgy... use your hands it blends nicely and looks the most natural
